To defend the Moore pick up I would say this: The past 2 playoff series we lost to were the Devils and the Bruins. What was the biggest thorn in our side vs the Devils? Their 4th line. Scrubs like Ryan Carter and Stephen Gionta KILLED us. Similar vs the Bruins with their 4th line (along with scrub Krug).

4th lines do matter. But I am still pissssssed off about Bobby Ryan

If they waive/trade/send Boyle to Kazakhstan I'm all about the deal. :)

but Dis, Boyle had a very strong playoff so we're replacing him with Moore. so at best we're a wash on the 4th line come playoffs.

I think they are trading Boyle and freeing his $1.7m altogether

Boyle has been strong in playoffs but I would rather have Moore at $1m

Bingo. And who knows if he is replacing Boyle? Maybe Pyatt goes. And Asham and Powe go down. I would be very fine with that. Saves us 2.775 on the cap if those guys are sent down. Moore for 1 mill. Let kids play a few spots.

Boyle/Moore/Dorsett is a very good 4th line. Not many better IMO.

Depth is what Sather is about. You see it clearly now. If you get in his head I bet you see him thinking we need real D depth. No more playing 4 or 5 dmen in the playoffs. And we need a 4th line that can play a little. Exactly for the reasons you said dis.

I agree on Moore or Boyle. Boyle or Pyatt is gone for sure IMO. They both make around the same, so one goes, and one plays the 4th line.

I do like the idea of Moore over Boyle by a mile, more agitating, quicker, better offensive ability.

Exactly sc. That is the point. Both Boyle and Pyatt are big and slow. One goes. Moore takes their place for less money. That is smart.

The issue is the other 3 lines and needing another winger. That is not on the Moore signing.

Moore upgrade over Powe and for similar $$$...with the 2 open spots with Cally and Hags...open door for Miller and a Fast to see what the NHL is like and for us to see what they can do. You hope that with Kreider given more freedom the goals will come...we will see...if not...blame AV

Moore makes sense in a Biron defintion......but Moore works hard Biron is a mystery and we still have him
