It is almost funny now. We have SO many of these types of players. Boyle, Pyatt, Pouliot, Dorsett, Powe, Asham, Moore. Some have a little better skills at certain things, but for the most part these guys are all 4th liners.

So there are two roads here.

    1. Sather is just depth crazed, and these guys will all be around (maybe Powe and Asham in the minors).
    2. There is a deal coming by packaging Boyle, or Pyatt, or some of these guys, prospects, picks. Who knows, but Sather may have something up his sleeve with all these 4th line type guys.

I am curious to see which way Sather goes with this.

Pouliot's a better offensive talent than most of those guys, so for that price they actually did ok. He'll play on the 3rd line I think, move Pyatt down. I'd have to think BB is on his way out.

I never had Pyatt on the 3rd line, so if anything it would slide Miller down, or down to the AHL after Hags and Cally return. Maybe Pouliot/Brass/MZA as the 3rd line.

I said it earlier. One of Pyatt or Boyle has to go now/be sent down. No need for both of them on the 4th line when Moore and Dorsett as here.

Depth baby. Sather's new big thing...:).

Good signing by NJ. Ryder at 3.5 mill per season for two years is a good signing. Makes up for the awful deal they gave Clowe.

I might have rather had Ryder for pure scoring ability but i'm sure it cost more. Pyatt/Moore/Dorsett is a good line. Maybe Lindberg squeak in there occasionally.

Whether Boyle or Pyatt fill that last spot, that is a very solid 4th line. A 4th line we can play almost every 4th shift. Good PK and FO guy in Moore. A little size with Pyatt or Boyle. And a fiesty banger in Dorsett. This is something we have lacked for a long time.

Right, I'd rather keep Pyatt than BB since they have Moore as a C now.

I am cool either way. They make the same amount of money (150 K more for Boyle). So either way I am cool. But I do think one needs to go. Thought that the second we signed Moore.

I'd think Pyatts familiarity with AV may swing it in his favor if they decide.

Looking closer at Pouliot, I like him. He certainly will be a solid 3rd line winger for us. Actually I think he could be a 15 goal and 30 point player.

8 goals and 20 points in 34 games this past season.
16 goals and 32 points in 74 games the prior season.
13 goals and 30 points in 79 games the prior season.
15 goals and 24 points in 39 games the prior season.

Solid stuff. And for the most part he played 12 or 13 mpg over those seasons.

Solid 3rd line guy. 15/30 guy IMO. Good signing for 1.3 mill and only one year.

Boyle brings much more to the table than Pyatt does. If you're gonna ship one out please make it him. I can live with a Boyle/Moore/Dorsett 4th line.

wheres Av's influence in all this we all know the offense is going to change.....will Boyle be a skater or a screener, he wins faceoffs. I think AV is the determining factor just pure speculation on my part

Pouliot was a high draft pick but his effort has been in question at times.

I think either way is okay. Make the same amount of money. Boyle can win faceoffs and play on the PK. Pyatt is a little better in the corners and more of a banger.

I lean towards liking Boyle more, but quite honestly I would try to deal whichever one gets us a better return. That would be my deciding factor.
