I agree 100% with David Lee's comment. Being on a winning team makes a player look better for some weird reason...

Overreact much? It is not as if he said something about Portland being a town he does not like or a mama joke. I love Lee's hustle and would definitely cheer for him. LA is better overall though.

They have both been All-NBA 3rd-team. LMA being left off the team last year was a joke due to Blake Griffin being a media creation.

LMA was an All-Star last year, as voted on by coaches. Lee was not. I respect the opinions of coaches more than the media, especially with Griffin an All-NBA 2nd team player, which was a travesty.

it was more tongue in cheek. LMA was (iirc) only about 10 votes off, and would've made "4th team" if there was one.

Ah, got it! Lee is a good player too, don't get me wrong. I think the rumors of the yet to be rumored Lee/Barnes/Thompson for LMA/Wes is a solid deal for Portland, unlike most of the "rebuilding" nonsense that's simply not going to happen.

Is this 3rd team all NBA forward David Lee we are talking about?

You're been slamming me about my "Aldridge hysteria" but I proposed the Lee/Thompson/Barnes deal days ago.... did you overlook it?

You've had some stupid ideas about LMA, too. But, if you need validation, well done. A broken clock is right 2x a day. By the way, I don't see Wes as a part of your proposed trade.

I think, regardless of what happens to LMA (trade for nothing, trade for good players, trade for young players, whatever), that we're in contention for a playoff spot next year. Improving the quality of the return on any trade for him just makes it a better team.

I'm with you, PapaG, that Lee/Klay/Barnes for LMA/Wes wouldn't make me sad. I'd rather try to find a package that sends Lee to MIN and gets us Love, but I really like Barnes' potential (moreso than Klay's, but we have backup with CJ --and possible Crabbe and/or Batum-- if Klay doesn't work out.)

Does GSW really value LMA that much more than Lee, to send us Barnes for the right to swap them?

I doubt they do, but my point is that Olshey should not just give away LMA for young mediocre players and draft picks. PA wants to be competitive next year for the playoffs, and I find it to be an almost zero % chance that Olshey makes a move for LMA that makes next year's team worse on paper. It goes against everything we've heard and read since he became GM.

If you had to choose, which one would you want? Aldridge is younger and much more athletic I think. Lee is a stat guy, no doubt he can score and rebound, but he reminds me of JJ Hickson on steroids. I sometimes lament Aldridge's defense, because I think he could be much better than he is, but he's definitely better than Lee.

Which idea was stupid? I think you just didn't like the idea of trading Aldridge, period. Weren't most of our arguments about the very idea of trading Aldridge, not about specific trades?

Um, not at all. I've clearly stated that I would only trade him if it makes the team better next season. I believe the imaginary trade proposed at least is for equal value, and Barnes would be the key player in that deal. I'd be fine with that trade, which is what a just posted.

You should really read for comprehension better.

See, this is what I'm talking about. Is this statement really necessary? Why can't you just post?

I honestly don't think you're happy unless you're trying to make others unhappy.
