Agree. Cap going way up. Richards will be gone. But they still need to get creative and get a scorer somehow and not waste another season for Hank

yup. All this "we need to just add depth" is a waste of a season when everyone else is getting better.

Just in time for Callahan, Brassard, Kreider, Girardi, MDZ, John Moore, and Lundqvist to all get new contracts and raises.

Call me impatient or whatever, but seeing the moves made today in the east, I'm restless

What we do...let's just wait for next season. Funny stuff. It is NEVER next season. Last season was supposed to be next season. One good season since 1997. Ridiculous now. Always next season...LOL.

i dont think they have a choice this season. next season they will surely grab a big name or two and possibly a couple of secondary scorers after they see which young guys have made the roster but I thought if they could have added another offensive player for cheap it would be a steal. With what the market is dictating i dont see it

EXACTLY. This is like a never ending game we play. Next season never comes. But we always say next season...funny stuff. At some point next season needs to be this season right? Or was that supposed to be last season? I think people told me that when I was furious we did nothing at the trade DL in 2012.

this is where you really confuse me, Chuck...you're complaining (unless your post is 100% sarcasm) that it's always next season, yet you keep saying we just need a 20gl scorer and some depth, which is basically what's going to happen this offseason barring someone waking up Sather, so shouldnt you be happy we're getting what you asked for?

This is where you confuse me 31. I believe we needed depth and to add another scoring winger to win next season. I am confused how you think those two things don't go together.

Unless you operate under the premise the only way we can win next season is by adding another big ticket big name player, WHICH I DO NOT, then what I say makes perfect sense.

So I am confused what is confusing you 31. Going for it to me doesn't mean we have to add another stud. To you it does. ONCE AGAIN we agree to disagree. For some reason you have a major issue just letting it be. We don't agree...get over it. But you can't. So thread after thread after thread we will battle, always started by you. Let it go man. Enough dude. Please. It is old and tired now.

If we added another scoring winger right now, I would be fine and ready to go. As far as I can tell we haven't done that 31. So we sit and wait. That is the issue. We need another winger who can score some goals. Only the same thing I have said since 7 seconds after we lost to the Bruins.

Poliout has the potential to score 20 goals. I wish they took a shot at Ryder. Honestly I think they will get another
Winger through a trade. Hopefully they can ship out Hagelin and Zuccarello.

Trade is still possible and it's not like the Rangers did nothing. Plus, if you have faith in the youth of this team under a new coach it's time for guys like Kreider to explode on the scene. But lets say you even get 25 goals from him next season. Pretty good addition to the scoring no?

I think we'll be in good shape as the AV trade for torts itself is a big plus. We still have hank, a D that will only get better as they cover the points, don't have to mindlessly send pucks around the boards to the other team and can actually use the middle when its there, and an offense that doesn't automatically just dump it in but can skate it in and will actually have an offensive philosophy. Kreiders been out drinking heavily since torts got canned but should be ready by training camp LOL. A big plus for the team in my mind is if the undertaker can make the team out of training camp to provide some much needed muscle. Maybe a jarring hit or 2 during exhibitions or him beating the crap about of lucic will do the trick for AV.

Messiah: 25gls out of Kreider is a pipe dream at this point. He has done nothing professionally that can give us confidence he can achieve that total next year. DUring the lockout, before Torts had a chance to screw with him, he couldn't even get 0.5 pts per game in the AHL. His NHL stint was even worse, but we know Torts probably had a lot to do with it.

I'm going to say Kreider will get 20 goals easy if he plays a lot on the PP. This coach has a great record with offense. The reality is that Kreider can't be moved in front of the net. He has a rocket shot and other than Nash, is the only guy on our team capable of beating goalies from 20 feet out with no screen. He has blazing speed. He should score 20 goals in this sleep if he gets PP TIME.

Even with re-signing all those guys next year they should still have a fair amount of space in a good FA year. Assuming of course GS isn't on fishing trip in South Africa and misses the Richards deadline. I would definately let Girardi walk, he's not worth a raise imo. McIlrath or Allen will most likely grab a spot, and maybe they go after Hjalmarsson or Pitkanen if Stralman dosen't come back.

Girardi is a guy if you don't plan on signing him, you trade him because he would fetch a ton even as a rental.

But if the Rangers are in the playoff hunt would they trade him during the season?

Exactly. It's a tough spot. I'm sooooo pissed Staal got hurt. He was playing lights out before that injury. He took a step up to elite. Hopefully, he can get back to that. Moore has so much upside. I really am anxious to see Del Zotto with a new coach and McIlrath. People forget that MDZ is still very, very, young.

Hopefully Girardi plays alot better this year, he and McDonagh looked completely out of it this year.

I said the team quit on Torts halfway thru the year. I believe this was correct.
