Barton actually isn't a bad choice. They love those combo sg/sf players

You could be right, but we know Jimmer can at least handle the 1 in the NBA. We have no idea if McCollum can

If POR doesn't have any interested in Jermaine O'Neal (and it doesn't seem that they do) but they still are looking at another Center then I would go after Greg Stiemsma who was cut by the Wolves. He is focused on D and I like that.

The good thing about jimmer is his ability to create his own shot. He's got some serious range too. I wouldn't kick him out of bed.

Also, I have a feeling that cj will eventually be the starting sg.

Yes, we do. he's not an all star, but he is at least capable, and he shoots the lights out

CJ's true position doesn't matter much. He's a player in the mold of Jarrett Jack, Terry, Redick, Bayless, or Gary Neal. He's going to be the primary scorer off the bench and will handle true PG duties for 5-10mpg. After reading up on him and watching highlights, I'm sure he can handle bringing the ball up and running the occasional P&R for that small period.

And besides, if you're going to put someone in the backcourt next to him, I sure as hell don't want a guy who duplicates his skills- I want a true PG like Dre Miller or Livingston.

Boston seemed bummed when they lost Stiemsma last year. I bet they try to get him back.
Portland needs to act fast if they like him.

Ok, I like it as well so Im going to just ahead and give Neil a quick call and let him know that the fans have decided and to get it taken care of. Good work gentlemen.

Should have kept Withey....younger, likely better than Leonard and more useful than a washed up O'Neal.....

Withey will likely still be in the league 3-4 years from now....doubtful that O'Neal would be....

For a veteran team that actually has a chance to do something in the playoffs...he would be ok as a 3rd string center...for a younger team that would be lucky to be 1 and done in the playoffs...better to go with youth...

WE already have enough young guys to work on. Adding another won't help us now. The 2 mil offer for an Oneal vet, is more valuable now; as apposed to grooming another big for the future. If one of our bigs gets into foul trouble; Oneal would be able to give us a 18 PER 10 minute stint. You think Withey can do that?

Thank you. It will save me the trouble.

Plus I don't think I can make it through another day of Olshey sitting on his hands doing nothing.

After using cap space on Robinson, Lopez, and Wright, I don't believe we would have the room to trade for Jimmer as well. The only moves remaining will either have to be minimum contract signings, FA's that fit in under the $2.5M room exceptions, or trades that meet the 150% salary match criterion.
