I agree the team is improved, but I disagree that it's in a big way

Yes the bench is improved, but is that really saying anything? When you look at the bench you realize that it's still heavily dependent on first and second year players. The bench will still be a weak imo, just not historically weak like last year.

Then you look at the fact the Blazers will still be a weak rebounding and defensive team (with a head coach that doesn't seem to stress defense to boot).

    Idk. I see a .500 team.

Aldridge sure seems to be focused on looking toward the future, I know that.

If Aldridge is looking toward the future, we might as well, too.

I will wait and we will have comments about why we shouldn't have give. Aldridge an extension.

Which team is going to afford him and be better than us when he retires?

Why should I let what LMA thinks (and I think he is actually focused on this season) impact how I view things?

I don't follow what other teams do with their cap, so I don't really know.

Well then why suppose Aldridge bolts if relevant teams can't even afford him?

I guess you could just ignore that there's a good possibility that he wants out. As a fan it doesn't really matter.

Hopefully the Blazers are planning for it if it comes to that.

I'm sure there would be contending teams lining up to grab him. Teams can make moves to open up space.

I think the blazers are planning on building a contender. So that's why Aldridge is still on the team. If they assumed Aldridge would bolt; they should of taken the golden state deal.

That's a telling sign management doesn't buy into quick and the other hacks claiming he wants out

And still keep their roster relevant? Sorry I don't see it

See, Aldridge hasn't necessarily said he wants out. From all things reported it sounds like he wants out only if the Blazers can't build a contender. Of course he'd stay if the Blazers are a contender.

The problem is right now, and this has been my whole point, the Blazers aren't a contender. They're about a .500 team, and that obviously won't keep Aldridge here.

I think they are more than a .500 team.

Not being on a big dose of what ever Mags has taken, I think we gain by what we have added as well as what other teams intend to do this season.

It seems every season that we don't win the championship is pointless to you? Why do you even follow the team or post on a message board about them? There's a lot of more fulfilling hobbies out there for you.

To roytoys defense; he seems like a die hard Aldridge fan. I can see his point in some regard. But the reality maybe this team will be much better than advertised. Sometimes the right pieces; even though they don't look as good on paper; is more valuable than getting a high profile player.

I think in this case; we are a good description of this. I can't wait for the season to start!

Planning is one thing. Giving away LMA right now for draft picks or Carlos Boozer is a pant-shatting move.

I blame Olshey for not drafting Jeremy Lamb.
