well, looks like Jermaine O'Neal is off the market. it was reported he'll sign with the Warriors for $2 million. i had thought Jermaine would have been a nice pick up for the Blazers, but i guess that's not going to happen. here's the story: http://espn.go.com/dallas/nba/story/_/id/9463507/golden-state-warriors-sign-jermaine-oneal-sources
Yeah I saw that too. A little bummed, but it's a good opportunity for him in Golden State. Odds are one of the bigs will be injured; which gives him more burn.
i'd heard he was deciding and it had been reported that he was not contacted by the Blazers. that would have filled out the roster quite nicely.
I began to wonder if the reason we never even reached to JO was because they didnt want to take away development time from Leonard and knew JO didnt want to see way on the end of the bench when he could play more with other teams. By not drafting a center we basically endorsed Leonard and said we are going to work on this some more.
I agree with Boise. I doubt jermaine wanted to sit on the bench a not get to play much. If we hadn't made the trade for lopez he could have been an option. We just had no minutes for him.
Very good chance it's left open till after SL and we see if there's a hidden gem. Or even leave it open longer to make any possible Aldridge trades easier to work out up till the trade deadline.
Have we waived Harris yet? I'm not convinced we will waive him if we haven't. Paul Allen has been selling picks lately soooooo
i don't know how often they update it, but here's one on nba-dot-com: http://www.nba.com/freeagents/2013/
i was saying that on another thread the other day. i don't think we're trading LaMarcus this summer. almost thinking we're going to re-sign Jefferies after all is said and done. then again, who knows.
Yep. That is the earliest it could go through. I would imagine we are not near the top of the list so it may take a few hours (or half a day) for our turn with the NBA. I doubt the NBA is going to work all night actually so most stuff probably won't be "official" until tomorrow morning sometime.
Don't blame him for going to a team that made a playoff run last year, but I wish we would have signed him.
I do not see why. Thought JJ showed that he is done at the end of last year. Greg Steisma got released in Minnesota. We could also just wait to use the spot for a 2 for 1 trade.
I remember when Jermaine played just down the highway from me, in Columbia, SC. Seems just like yesterday. Er, wait....no it doesn't How different things might have been if Whitsitt had listened to the Blazer players telling him that Jermaine was gonna be better than Sheed. Shoot, Dale Davis couldn't even drive in a couple inches of snow!
