If the rumors are true MLB is looking to hand down a 100 game suspension. That suspension would carry into next season. The Yankees you know would explore every avenue to then get out of that contract. Even go as far as trying to equate these injuries and the lost time to PED use. I know folks have stated they can't void contracts and what about the CBA and union. That being said this could get very interesting.

not sure how MLB can suspend someone who did not fail a test...unfortunately (i say this as a huge yankee fan) there is thing as innocent until proven guilty.

If he is suspended and is healthy enough to play could he just not appeal and play until the hearing? If that is the case I would think he would play for them again no?

...I dunno, I think ARod is enough of a snake that if he's not suspended he'll take a "deal" from the Yanx....they'll have a Doctor say he is unable to play because of his hip and the Yanx will claim the insurance money....and ARod will, to use a Mike Tyson faux pas, "Fade into Bolivian".

    ...yeah, I know, but I can dream, can't I?

Actually your scenario is what I am hoping will happen but I believe he will play for them again. If he does I am very curious what kind of reception he will get from the Yankee crowd.

Its been suggested that he may very well do that. try to play, deem himself unfit, get confirmation from a doctor & still get his 114M

Will that money count against the Yankees payroll and luxury tax? Hopefully not and they can stop it with this bargain basement garage sale hunting players.
