The Chicago Bulls announced today the team has signed free agent guard/forward Mike Dunleavy. In accordance with team policy, terms of the contract were not announced.

"We are extremely excited to add Mike to our team,” said Bulls General Manager Gar Forman. “He was a priority for us from the second free agency began and we feel he will be a terrific fit for us, both on and off the floor."

Dunleavy (6-9, 230), an 11-year NBA veteran, most recently played with the Milwaukee Bucks during the 2012-13 season. Last year with the Bucks, he appeared in 75 games (three starts) and averaged 10.5 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 1.9 apg and 0.52 spg in 25.9 mpg. He also shot .442 from the field, .428 from downtown (eighth in the NBA) and .820 from the line.

He reminds me of a Ph.D. in Astrophysics that I know. Not sure if that's a good thing in a basketball player.

Transplant, care to fill me in a bit on MDJ's past? I'm not all that familiar with his game. He's been tough enough to hang on for lo these 11 years, which is no mean feat. Better than the two drafted ahead of him.

He was drafted right after Yao and Jay Williams. He is really tall, but not really quick enough to play either SG or SF. After playing at SG, though, he turned out to be alright at it. I guess he's been playing SF for the Bucks the past two seasons.

    His numbers say he's a career 11.9 PPG scorer, 4.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, .444 FG%, and .372 3pt%.

Was he a SG for Indiana when he averaged 19pts per game? The Bulls seem to have obtained him for the sake of playing SF behind Lu, but I suppose as insurance for Jimmy Butler not being able to handle the starting role full time.

I think he's going to play both SG and SF.

    Otherwise we're playing Radmanovic.
