no, Crawford was telling him happy birthday today, and Aldridge told him it was tomorrow, and Crawford blamed it on his phone telling him it was the 19th, and Aldridge telling Crawford no, he messes it up every year.

Lets track it. What do you think is available now? We can check back and compare what will be available before the draft next year, and then again in two years if we complete a sign and trade and/or sign a FA with the cap space. That way we can see when his value actually declined.

I think it all depends on just how strong his game is next season. If he is anywhere near 20+/10+/3+/1+; his value will increase drastically. ALSO, if he is working the low block more and really getting his points 10ft from the basket, will really bring his value up too.

Let's assume that right now, Golden State offered either Barnes or Thompson and Bogut or Lee. That would be the first starting point via start of free agency.

I don't really agree. People know what he can do. He's not a player you need to showcase to trade. That makes sense with younger guys, or guys who haven't been given opportunity, or have not started. But everyone knows who LMA is and what he can do. GOing out and averaging 40 points or 15 points doesn't change that a whole lot.

I totally disagree. Many complained that Aldridge shot too many times from the perimeter. And if he was averaging 40/15; he would be even more valuable than we could ever imagine.

No iteration of that trade could possibly be as valuable to us as LaMarcus.

But that was part of Stotts' offense, having him shoot outside. Any GM would look at how LMA, the player he knows, would fit into what his coach runs. They've seen him on the block. Him doing it for a month to start the season isn't going to be showing off a new found skill. If he shows that he can actually dribble, that might be different. Or if he showed fantastic range from 3. But just putting him on the block, or him averaging 20/10 does very little.

That was the only thing that really was publicly offered. i guess the other was the #1, #19 and Varejoa.

Teams almost never get equal value in return for players like Aldridge, fringe all-stars, if we could get equal value with picks and youth sure pull the trigger. But the offers will be things like Asik and Houstons crappy draft picks or David Lee and Klay Thompson.

I'd rather just see Aldridge play out his contract and then leave in free agency; that is better than taking the Cavs #1 pick in a terrible draft or a guy like Klay Thompson. Even if Aldridge hits unrestricted free agency planning to leave there is always a small chance it doesn't work out with other teams then he and the Blazers come to a deal.

I haven't seen any rumored trade offers that are enticing. Just think of the next two years as renting Aldridge similar to how we rented Gerald Wallace for a few late 1st round picks. If some team offers us the next Lillard for Aldridge like the Nets did then sure go ahead and take it but otherwise we should just enjoy his days in a Blazer uniform.

Only CHA deal I would do is LMA, Barton and Freeland for M. Kidd-Gilchrist, B. Biyombo, G. Henderson, and C. Zeller plus a 1st round pick.

Doesn't matter though. Aldridge won't go there.

I'm right there with you. Nothing offered or even talked about makes me feel good about trading him. I would almost rather wait it out and see what happens.

To get a good deal in any bargain transaction you have to be able to walk away from it. If the Blazers decide to trade Aldrdige no matter what they won't maximize their return. Sure we should listen to deals that improve the team in the long run but if the deals don't improve the team then just stay the course. It's stupid to panic and make a bad trade out of fear of a worse case scenario of a player maybe leaving years down the road. If we start doing that now we set a terrible precedent.
