Maybe it could be a college movie like Revenge of the Nerds, but what movie about school was really big while you were in high school? Superbad was really big while i was in it, and i think Napoleon Dynamite came out while i was just entering. I'm curious to see what some of the old farts say :devilwink:.

American Pie came out while I was in high school, but I was a bigger fan of Fast Times and Dazed and Confused. Both of those are classics.

There wasn't a lot to choose from in the early 90's.

I seem to remember Dances With Wolves, Home Alone and Jurassic Park being the big ones.

Edit: Nevermind I guess I didn't get the point of this thread. :)

No kidding... 1992-1995 was a wasteland for that kind of movie, but SO GOOD for genre films that teens would like (The Crow, anyone?)

    Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

That movie was a sensation. Extremely popular with the kids.

And why not? Set in a California school with "average" type kids who worked crap jobs at the mall, struggled in school, and struggled in love, kids could easily relate.

Add in the standard exploitation mix of sex, drugs and rock & roll, but balance that with a good screenplay (Cameron Crowe!), a great, young cast: Sean Penn!, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judge Reinhold, who all got a major career boost from this movie.

Oh yeah, and Phoebe Cates' boobs.
