Yes, if the women are adults they share some blame, but GOD, these people are really a cult. One brave woman wrote a book about her false accusations against her father that the shrink insisted had really happened. First, the father had rejected her for being gay so there was resentment. But also, she talks about how just like religious cults she and her partner were in a totally sealed off cocoon. They did not have regular jobs. They went only to certain movies, listened only to certain music, read only certain books, no newspapers, no TV, no contact with others. They were totally isolated from outside people or events. And told that they must accept the "truth" that was handed to them. Just like religious cults. She had to split with her partner, who was an actual rape survivor, when the partner got deeper and deeper into it, and insisted they have recovery sessions to heal from satanic abuse which never happened. Her partner and all their friends then considered her the enemy when she finally said that whatever her problems with her father, he had never raped or molested her. I prefer soft cheese. My cat Orlando gave me a mouse yesterday for my birthday. Wasn't that sweet of him? See how off topic of the OT of the OT I can get!
Happy b-day I like soft cheese too. Liking emmental doesn't preclude the enjoyment of nice ripe camembert and some crusty bread. And how is that "cult" more cult like than many evangelical or orthodox religions? Anyway, hope you baked yourself a nice birthday cake, from what I've seen, nobody else's would suffice.
So far as I know, not all orthodox/evangelical religions are that closed. I mean, I know Orthodox Jews who work regular jobs, go to movies, read ordinary newspapers, etc. Some, of course, are closed. I guess what I'm saying is that when a person is cut off from everone/everything but a particular cult then it makes it very easy to get him/her to start thinking the groupthink. Like my friend who tried to pray away the gay - he got away from them eventually and came WAY out, but in the meantime he had to give up outside friends (starting, of course, with that crazy hippie radical Jew who told him everything he is was fine with her), class he had been taking, hobbies, outside job, everything. So he had contact with only those folks who kept saying if he prayed hard enough Jesus would make him straight.
