    Former Rutgers coach Mike Rice Jr. attended forum sponsored by GLSEN, Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network. According to his friend, high school basketball coach Anthony Nicodemo (who recently came out), Rice is "trying to educate himself on the community and become more aware of the repercussions of what he did".

    Is this because he used a gay 'slur' or something? I heard something about him being a prick to his student athletes, but I'm not aware of what he did to offend an entire sub-culture. What did he do to warrant needing 'educated'?

    I still see this as a very good thing. At least he's willing to try to "make amends".. most actual bigots wouldn't attend this class.

    Among other acts, Rice used an anti gay slur as an all purpose insult to his players. That's why.

    I do agree the alphabet soup of organizations can get confusing.
