A former member of the Dallas Mavericks male dance team killed four people and wounded at least four more with guns and a grenade Wednesday night, police said, according to multiple media reports.

Erbie Bowser, a 44-year-old who was known as E-Luv with the Mavs ManiAACs as recently as 2011, shot and killed Toya Smith, 43, and her 17-year-old daughter Tasmia Allen and injured two more in a Dallas home around 10:30 p.m. CT Wednesday night, police said.

Smith is believed to have been Bowser's former girlfriend, according to multiple media reports.

According to police, Bowser then drove to the home of his ex-wife Zina Till in the Dallas suburb of DeSoto. He threw a grenade into the house and after it detonated he entered the home and began shooting. Two women were killed and two boys, aged 11 and 13, were wounded, police told multiple media outlets. Bowser then ran out of ammunition. It is not clear if Till was one of the victims in the second shooting. According to reports, a 3-year-old was removed from the DeSoto home unharmed.

When police arrived at the DeSoto house, Bowser pretended to be one of the victims. According to reports, he gave police his name, rank and serial number. Police said that Bowser has tattoos that indicate he was a member of the Army Rangers; however, a 2008 application for divorce says that neither party was a member of the armed forces.

How much of this tragedy could have been averted if his victims also had grenades?

The only thing that could stop a bad guy with a grenade is a good guy with a grenade.

Now there's someone who shouldn't have had easy access to weapons of any sort (or any access to be honest).

i'm always so disappointed when these freaks don't kill themselves afterward or get killed by cops. Now we have to hear about through his trial and then again when its time to strap him down zap him.

Why would you want them to kill themselves? Wouldn't it be better if the dude rots in prison without parole? I think instant death would be an easy out; unless you believe there is a hell and they will burn in a torment of fire for all eternity.

Ooh, I don't know...so the mom and her 17 year old daughter weren't killed, those two other women weren't killed, and those young boys weren't injured?

I thought julius meant they should kill themselves before going on their killing spree, thereby preventing the loss of innocent lives.

Oh I misread your comment. I thought they killed themselves after their slaughter. Yeah I can get your point if they did this before they went batshit crazy

What is this world coming to? Mavs dancer goes on killing spree and Miss Utah contestant throws bombs (side issue but funny how ordinary "beauty queens" look without the professional makeup and hair styling).

You mean you would infringe on a misinterpretation of his second amendment right to keep and bear granades? How dare you.

Wanna bet that this dude was on Prozac or similar drug (SSRI's)?

One of the most underreported news stories of the last 20 years is that there is a black box warning on these drugs that in "rare" instances the drugs can cause suicidal and violent feelings.
