As far as I understood the situation, the church bombings were after the massacre in Cairo. But that could be incorrect. The Arab Spring was most definitely not instigated by the Muslim Brotherhood. It started in Tunisia and spread to Algeria and Morocco before anything happened in Egypt. The demonstrations in Egypt were massive in scale and were spearheaded by young liberals. The Brotherhood had a presence because they are a huge political party in Egypt, but they were by no means behind the revolution. Revolution to throw off dictators is a mistake? What? Can you try to make sense? Mine neither.
Conjecture. I could just as easily say that the Brotherhood started the protests in the countries you mentioned (where they weren't banned), and used it as a cover to overthrow Mubarak, with the help of Obama. Anybody who believes Obama after the Mohammed Video bullshit story is an idiot in my book. I don't put anything past the guy.
Well you would be quite at home discussing politics with most people in the Middle East because by god, do they love unsubstantiated conspiracy theories. The start and spread of the Arab Spring is very well documented. Look it up.

I'm not sure what you conservatives are advocating for. Some of you are chiding him for providing aid and some of you are criticizing him for not doing enough. Do you guys want him to intervene or not?
As near as I can tell, Obama is bound by the constitution to uphold the treaty Carter signed with Egypt to give them $billions in military aid. The arms we have given them all along are almost certainly under the control of the military leadership there. Unless they've had some of it stolen - I've not heard anything like that tho. I'm pretty sure Obama should be glued in his chair doing something, though.

This is a terrible situation and very complicated for Western countries. Do you help the group who tried to build an oppressive regime but were elected democratically? Do you help the group who seemed more religiously neutral, but is killing thousands?
See, this is why I like Denny. We may not agree on some stuff, but he at least doesn't let his political ideology cloud his mind.
