PG...... I stay away from the political threads on here because honestly I am not in to following politics. I understand I should, but I served my country, so I believe I deserve a pass on this. That said, I notice you always start threads or post kinda' bashing Obama. You aren't the only one on here who cracks on him, but just curious.......do you really spend this much time thinking about him? I love Obama and have only thought of him maybe 3 times in the past 5 years. You seem like a very smart, successful family man.....do you honestly think we were better off with Bush as our president? If so, educate me.
I think you only need to look at the state of the current economy to realize we were better off under Bush. Bush sucked, but he was a helluva lot better than Obama.
Yeah, there's really no reason to love Obama... Especially if he doesn't even pay attention to politics, how can he love him?
OK, my $0.02. I thought Bush was a very poor President. On a 1-10 scale, about a 2.5. He was not very influential with Congress and wasn't an effective leader. Obama has been a destructive President. He has created divisions and may be considered the single worst President in history with respect to the economy. Now, that said, with the exception of the killing of that ambassador, I have approved of his foreign policy overall and environmental stances. I think he will be remembered as either a poor President like Bush, or if his doings placed the final nail in the economy, maybe the worst President ever. As to Obamacare, in the end I think it will be considered a total failure.
see, this is why it's hard to take anything you say seriously. single worst? Does the name Herbert Hoover ring a bell? Or the guy who was president when the economy almost collapsed? you guys are so funny with the "economy" horse shit. Is the economy great? No. Did he cause it to get worse? Nope. did he do enough (and congress is included in this indictment) to fix it? Nope. Are we suffering from horrible inflation? Nope. Are we suffering from hyperinfation? Nope. Are most people unable to live and actually eat food or wait in lines to get food? Nope Are we losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month? Nope Are we on the brink of a depression? Nope. Is unemployment in the mid 20%? Nope. Yes, there are a lot of things to be fixed. But seriously, catch a clue.
You don't know your history. Hoover faced an entirely different set of circumstances and did more to try and get out of it. Obama made no real effort to get out of it. The fact is he failed to act and his policies were designed to either make it worse or for political payoffs. That's a bad President. Study your history!
you dont know shit about herbert hoover son, best be backing up off this tip i vote reagan as worst president ever
As time goes on, I am becoming less and less of a fan of Obama (to the point of not voting for him, but also I don't hate him). I think the appeal to many about Obama is he is not another rich white guy as president. Obama is not poor by any stretch of the imagination, but he isn't Romney, Bush, Kerry and the likes. And god knows many can get tired of the president always seeming to be a white guy with blue blood. So while I hate the fact his economic policy is personally hurting me, I do get a little pleasure when people think he is bias for black people in the country. Welcome to what many have been feeling about the president (bias for rich white people) since . . . well since forever.
You ever think that a lot of why Obama hasn't succeeded is simply because the Republicans, in an unprecedented rate, have been refusing to help/pass laws in ANY way and have tried to undermine everything he's done since day one? You do know that the President actually isn't the one who changes policies, and makes laws, right? But the congress, the least active and productive congress probably in 100 years, is the one who is supposed to move the ball forward. But when the R's are controlled by a very wack-job conservative wing (I'll call them T-party), who refuses to do anything to help the country because it MIGHT end up looking like they agree with the President,(even if it benefits them personally)...well, wtf do you think is going to happen? It's not like he's implemented tons of policies or changes in an economic manner (which is partly his fault, and partly the Rs fault). That is both a negative and a positive for him, imho. Negative because he hasn't done enough, but positive because it's kind of difficult to say he's not doing enough to fix the economy with one hand, when you're saying he's screwing the economy over with the other. I think one of the things that probably irritates liberals and democrats most, is the almost irrational fear that conservatives and republicans have, in accepting that Bush was a horrible president, set the country back years, and fucked up the economy. That is not to say that Obama has been perfect, but seriously...if you think things are worse now than they were under Bush's 5th and 6th year in office, you are in serious need of taking off your blinders. The economy was on the brink of collapsing. Not staggering along like it is now, COLLAPSING. Ok,you might say it's a bit extreme, but it was a dying economy. Now whether or not he (Bush) is the sole reason for it is up for debate (I happen to think he's not, it's a long history of stupid policies and decisions in WDC), but if Obama is the "worst" economic president ever (your words), it might be helpful if the guy right before him wasn't even worse. Like I said, it's hard to take you serious (especially when you have claimed you're not a talking points conservative sheep) when you say shit like this. We're all entitled to our opinions, however, we're not entitled to our own made up facts.
I know it sounds cliche'd, but Im not a fan of his. Mostly because he's not taking advantage of his position to be more aggressive and forthright about what he claims is what he stands for. You didn't see Bush (or Reagan) pussy-footing around with shit when they were in office. Republicans (although not so much now) had their shit together and knew how to make Democrats agree with them while thinking the Republicans were validating their opinions. The Democrats suck at that, and have no spines.
