The saying with Bush was "it's not that he doesn't like black people, it is that he doesn't like poor people" I wonder what kind of saying Obama will end up living by: "It's not that he wanted to ruin the economy, it's just that he doesn't know what he is doing" BTW-julius I know exactly where you are coming from. Much of what you are saying is echoed by many democrats I speak with. I personally see it as he is a man willing to compromise, but many think he has sold out and is not showing teh conviction that he promised during his campaign. Would love to read this board if he did become more aggressive and stood by his convictions more.
To me, compromise is a good thing. However, if it's a compromise like the following, it's worthless. Me: Can I borrow 10 dollars? You: I will give you 0. Me: Ok, how about 8 bucks? You: Nope, I'll maybe give you 50 cents. I don't like lending money. Me: Ok, I'll take 5 bucks, plus I'll pay you back double? You: Nope Me: Ok...my final offer, I'll give you 8 bucks and you can keep it without paying me back. You: Nope. Me: Ok, seriously. Last offer. I'll give you 10 bucks, PLUS...PLUS....you can keep it without paying my back AND I'll give you interest on it. You: Fine. Your friend: Damn, you compromised your values T_O_B, I can't believe you caved. My friend: You fucking coward, you caved big time. Me: No, we compromised, it's just not something you see everyday anymore. To me, that's what Obama has done (not to that extreme, but he's caved on a lot of what he, and D's as a whole, want) AND he gets accused of not compromising or willing to.
Much like how a QB gets overly credited/blamed for a football team's wins/losses, the POTUS gets overly credited for their effect on the economy. Continuing that analogy, Congress is like the Offensive line clearing a path or letting through blitzers to level the QB. They control all spending and economic policies... the President can only make suggestions on what they should do. Bush was the worst President in my lifetime for many reasons. Having a willing Congress installing his disastrous policies which directly led to tanking the economy ranks high on the list behind 9/11 & the subsequent bold face lies told to the American people (& the world) to justify the unnecessary catastrophe that was Iraq. But make no mistake about it, his economic policies were installed & ran the country off the road. http://www.bushtoll.com/ Under Obama, the Legislative Branch has become known as the do nothing Congress because they've barely passed anything. Despite two large margin electoral victories, his policies/economic suggestions were not installed. Hard to give him much credit or blame for the way things are going economically when obstructive politics have kept him from running any plays. So worst President ever followed by worst Congress ever STOMP
Obama is a product of the Chicago political machine. The most corrupt group of politicians this country has ever seen. I never expected him to accomplish anything positive during his presidency and to date he hasn't.
Oh I'm sorry, did I miss the news where the economy is about to collapse? Or the stock market is taking a crap? or we're losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month?
Higher unemployment. Greater income disparity between the rich and the middle class. Incurring the largest national debt in history. Actively spying on citizens of the country. The administration has been involved in multiple scandals. I guess you did miss some of that stuff.
Everything was just fine until Pelosi and Reid became congressional leaders. Elected in 2006, ran congress for a year before the shit hit the an. It's hard to justify his spending proposals when we were running deficits near $2 TRILLION. It's hard to justify his ideas are successful because once his wallet was emptied, and his enacted really expensive spending ideas wore off, only then did the economy start making the jobs he's so quick to take credit for. While he was spending half of TARP and his $800B blank check, we weren't counting jobs created but jobs somehow saved. To boot, his budget proposals have been thoroughly and unanimously rejected by every single congressman from BOTH parties. He got ZERO votes, even from his own party. "I guess those shovel ready jobs weren't so shovel ready after all" -- Obama.
unemployment wasn't higher under Bush, that is true. But what kickstarted the trend towards high unemployment? The 'scandals' have all proved to be overblown fluff...and until the current administration invades two countries, one of which had nothing to do with the attack on our shore and the rationale was a fabricated LIE, AND we have a known terrorist threat that they didn't take seriously happen.. then maybe you can talk. Until that point, you're just whining.
Congress is saving our bacon right now. We have oversight of federal agencies. Without that oversight, they spent huge amounts of taxpayer money on ritzy Vegas hotel rooms, hookers, and booze. And they cut off Obama's allowance and now he's bragging about how there's been no spending increases and the deficit is now only 150% of Bush's largest.

STOMP with the obligatory "Bush's Fault" post, complete with some leftist website called bushtoll.com. LOL
Everything is Bush's fault. When this is the baseline, it's not even worth debate. Liberals like to blame others for their failures. 5.5 years since Bush has been President, and it's still his fault. Fascinating. Perhaps liberalism really is a mental disorder. I can't take this guy seriously anymore. LMAO People who blindly defended Bush, and people who blindly defend Obama, are incurious people who are part of the "Team Politics" stuff that is ruining this country. All that is missing is Bush's grand dad and Hitler. What an embarrassing post, julius.
