Is anyone else bothered by the fact that if Nunez goes down we will have a beer league infield. These next 10 games can change everything and with Nunez hammy and history, I feel it's a big risk.

Saw video of Jeter playing a rehab game, would be cool if he could come back but again potential risk. Hey Cash are you looking for a solution to this problem.

My point was this, Jeter is very fragile right now, he is an unknown physically. Nunez, if his hammy pops, will be dome for the remainder of the year. Playoff rosters are set next Saturday I believe. So lets for argument say we win the a wildcard, Nunez pops a hammy, and Jeter breaks down again. So the plan is to have Cano play short and bring Soriano for example in from left field. We have all kicked this to death, but Cashman has sucked at getting us the help we needed all year. It would show me this team is committed to winning, and when your ownership insist on the only trade (Soriano) and you come out publicly and say you were against it, I don't know how you feel, but it looks like either Cashman is totally lost, or wants to be fired.

Or...he is in a cant win situation....Boss...hey...stop spending money because i dont want to pay the luxury tax..

Employee..Ok boss give me a budget and we will see what we can work with

    Boss..here is your budget
Employee...wow...you want me to keep the same excellence with a deficit in the budget

    Boss...do it..

Employee...ok...well this wont work as we can not spend on players if current ones are injuried

    Boss..i want to win...get me x

    Employee...what about the budget

    Boss...phones other boss...lets make a deal

    Employee..umm....errr...

    Now...lets add another wrinkle...

Every team should have a capable backup backup backup plan in case the first two plans fail for one reason or another...not only should they have a third backup plan but that third backup plan should be equal or better then the first two backup plans....

    Unrealistic.
