Please keep him away from the mound for the rest of the season. This guy couldn't come up with a big strike out for anything. Yes, Ichiro needs to catch that ball but you don't make matters worse by allowing guys to absolutely rip the ball to right field.

Seems like every year he has been a starter he has gotten worse. Aside from that 18 win season which was basically smoke and mirrors anyway he has not been a good starter ever. I still worry the Yankees will offer him a qualifying offer which he would be foolish not to take. Bad starters hurt teams. Hughes hurts the Yankees. They have to cut the cord clean on this bust and shove him out the door. Let him become someone else's problem.

I agree. Let him catch on elsewhere. Like you said I think at this point he would take the offer and then you're dealing with him for another year.

I feel your worries are well warranted. I put Hughes in the same class as Wells, and Stewart as guys I never want to see in a Yankee uniform after this year. I feel that if he is able to continue in the majors it will ultimately be as a guy who comes out of the bullpen.

The Yankees can't be taking this playoff push very seriously if the continue to trot Hughes out there every 5 days.

They haven't made moves all year, the only one they did, Soriano, the GM was against. You can't make this stuff up.

But hey no problems with how this team is run. We are all just haters for stating the obvious.

    Plainly and simply, Hughes SUCKS.

I chuckle whenever I hear the announcers or analysts tell us he can sometimes be "very good"....as if no other MLB pitcher's aren't sometimes very good.

HE SUCKS..and the sooner the Yanks can replace him and move on with other possibilities in their rotation- the better.

I like Hughes, he's just not a starting pitcher, he lacks the command and arsenal, this fact is about 2 years old, he belongs in the pen.

I don't even want him in the bullpen. Just let him catch on elsewhere.

    _________________________________

Hughes, when last seen regularly in the bullpen...2009 post season,
    ALDS whip - 3.00
    ALCS whip - 1.85

If we recall, he was eventually relegated to mop-up duty.

Maybe he could be used as a 5th-6th inning mop-up guy or 6th / 7th starter, but I wouldn't trust this guy with the game on the line with runners on base.
He throws too many high curveballs and STRAIGHT fastballs. He sucks!
