You're constantly making derogatory and racist remarks against white players, I know you're trying to be funny, but I think it's stupid.
Are you white? Did I offend your whiteness. Do you have some strong connection to slow old white players? If so, I apologize. Sent from HCPs Baller-Ass iPhone 5...FAMS!
In what way did they look athletic? How can you tell how athletic they are from a still photo? It's cuz they're white, right? Bingo. You thought they were slow because they were white. Point out something in the photo that tells you how unathletic they are. Other than their skill color. How can you tell how fast they are?
Catered to the stars, as I said. I hated calling hand checks when I reffed. The only time I would do that is if it got too chippy and needed to assert. Other than that, if it's just a jab to the wrist and doesn't affect the play, let it go. This is what they DON'T do in the NBA with the stars.
If you were to transport today's players back in time to the 50's or 60's they would hate having to wear Converse Chuck Taylors, short shorts and traveling from game to game in buses or trains. They'd also hate being paid $50 a game and having to find full time work in the offseason. None of them would want to play basketball. Slow white guys win!

You explain it, I can't. But it might have something to do with most of the new guys being border-line illiterates with enormous egos. Old-schoolers would be the Harlem Globetrotters to today's Washington Generals.
Then why the hell are you doing it? Your entire post is comparing players from different eras, dumbass.
If you ever address me as such, be sure to capitalize the Y and the W. In fact, I am sitting on the throne right now.
I think Lebron from a build, game standpoint is closer to Magic (Not MJ) which is why I used him. I like you don't think he is as good as Magic. It would be interesting to see what Riley has to say about this. As for the rest of you. I guess its best to agree to disagree. One thing that someone posted above is that players back then were tougher. Were they tougher because they worked harder on their game? And if they worked harder on their game is it more likely they were fundamentally superior than the players today? I think they were.
They were tougher because the American culture was tougher. Which was both good and bad. By the way, maybe #16 looks like an oaf in the picture because Cousy was as tricky as his legacy says he was.
More good than bad. The nation was a lot stronger than it is today. I think the same could be said about the NBA game. Players today tend to rely on their strength, speed and athletic ability. And it shows. The game was by far much more entertaining in the 80's
Old-time players say the opposite, that the difference between then and now is that quadrupling the number of NBA players (from 9 X 12 to 30 X 15, while U.S. population has grown only 67% from 180M to 300M) has thinned the average bench. Having 6 assistant coaches instead of one helps less than you would think, because players now when drafted are so young and uncoached, whether American or foreign.
You must have not been good at calling it then. A "hot stove" touch is legal. However, a constant hand being utilized to steer a player and displace them is a foul and should be called.
They let black guys and Euros play now. How is it that guys like Rudy and Sergio look like superstars when they play overseas? Bring em here and 1)they suck and 2) Kome and LBJ pad their stats playing against them.
