So you don't think people buy a BMW for image? And yes, many guys who buy bikes have the same issues. I see it all the time. They look down on other riders because they ride (in their eyes) a lesser bike. I've ridden a 250 and a 600. People who ride 1000cc bikes look down on the 600 bikes because they're weaker. It's sad. Harley riders look down on.... well..... everyone. There's tons of ego and insecurity involved. Most riders won't wave at a scooter rider. It's all ego.
Probably some, but I think it would be a surprisingly lower percentage than you think. I'm not even sure what that image is. I honestly think most people buy mercedes because they enjoy the luxury that comes with it and most people buy BMWs because of the way they drive. They are just fun to drive. Why do you ride a bike?
Nate, you don't think somebody would buy a BMW because they want a well built luxury sedan? Honestly?
Considering most BMW's I see on the road are driven like complete assholes, I tend to lean towards the "extension of penis" theory. I ride a bike because A) I love watching motorcycle racing B) I enjoy customizing the bike C) It's cheaper than buying, insuring, and driving a car. D) It's fun
Well I think your thoughts on BMW drivers can easily carry over to motorcycle riders, especially they way they act on the road. But since we are into stereotyping by vehicle, I can say with confidence I would rather be a BMW owner or bike rider than the image that goes with being a Camry owner.
I can respect your reasons for a bike. But you have to respect the fact that I bought an Audi A6 4.2L V8 because it is so fucking fun to rally in and its VERY comfortable. Could care less if people look at me when I drive it or not. Although it is funny when stuffy pricks in suits stare at me when a gangster like myself has a nicer ride than them! So maybe there is a little image involved.
Do people really have a 'my car is cooler than your car complex' still? I thought that stuff was left in high school. Or, maybe there is and I just really don't pay attention because I don't care. I can afford a new car and was contemplating buying one this spring, but then it dawned on me that I kinda dig not having to make a car payment and thought I'd ride this puppy out for a while.
I'm thinking about getting a Dodge Ram SRT10 in a couple years and blowing you mothafuckaz outta the water.
Didn't I just say motorcycle riders are horrible? Most of them are either old tough guys on harleys or 20 year old kids riding super sports in jeans and a tshirt. Do you own a beamer? Its the only reason I can imagine for these weak ass insult attempts. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
We bought my wife a BMW; I can assure you ego had nothing to do with it. The combination of safety, fuel economy, comfort, responsiveness, handling (especially in snow), AWD, cabin room and price did.
For the record, I've always looked at cars no different than I look at food. I need it for a purpose, and I purchase what I can afford. That means I pay cash. If I can't afford the car I want, I buy a lesser car. If I can't afford to purchase a car with cash, I save my money or change my lifestyle. For that reason, I didn't own my first car until I was 21.
Dude...grow up. You started throwing out the attacks on BMW / Mercedes / Audi owners. T_o_B didn't even attempt to insult you, and now you're getting butt hurt. Your insecurity issues are large.
I see a whole bunch of German car owners coming out of the wood work. Yes, I think most people who have a BMW drive like they own the road. Yes, I think you overpaid for a car that isn't worth the extra money. Yes, I think you're getting raped on repair costs and labor for when your vehicle inevitably breaks down. Cheers
Serious question, why are you and others taking this so personally? They. Are. Cars. You'd think I was insulting your children. Good grief.
