Jordan punched Steve Kerr in the face when they were teammates. If you don't agree with me on Jordan and Drexler potentially not getting along, whatever. I don't think it would have been as simple as some seem to think. Maybe that's my way of dealing with missing out on Jordan, but I see two guys who both wanted to be alpha, and it would be Jordan invading Drexler's turf. Perhaps, as I posted, Jordan would have motivated Clyde, though, and a dynasty is born. :dunno:

Bowie shouldn't even be on the list. He played extremely well, was a real treat to watch, and lasted 11 seasons during what many consider the most competitive period in the history of the game.

And fuck Jordan, Houston passed on him before we did.

So thats your proof he humiliated him in the olympic practices? He punched Steve Kerr in the face?

I think the thing is, Clyde may have wanted ot be the Alpha, but he wasn't the Alpha compared to Jordan.

And when Jordan was a rookie, Drexler wasn't the Alpha dog here anyways. So thats kind of a moot point.

I watched them battle head to head for years and never considered either one better than the other. I don't think Jordan would have lasted long in Portland due to the fact he seems like such an asshole. Kinda like Scottie Pippen was when we had him, I couldn't wait for him to leave. And he's only played well for one NBA coach, Jackson. So who knows if he'd ever have been a big deal had he taken another path?

I will go out on a limb here and say that Scottie Pippen was a better player than Clyde.

Clyde was a slightly superior scorer but Pippen was a vastly superior defender. I agree you put Clyde on those Bulls teams instead of Pippen and Chicago is worse.

Let's hope in 10-15 years when we see this list again, Thomas Robinson's name isn't on it.

I don't believe this. Scottie was the more intelligent player. But he wasn't the better all around players. And certainly not as a explosive.

And btw. Not that I condone his work on the practice court.

But discussing and talking about Clydes practice habits are overstated. What was more important is what he did on the court. Name me another player since Clyde who put it out there game in and game out since Clyde. There hasn't been a player that played at the level Clyde did since Clyde. And I don't mean being good. But the effort and fortitude he played with on the court when it was game time.

Um, no. I gave you a link to the book the chronicles the Dream Team and how Jordan made it a point to destroy Drexler in practice.

Clyde was a better scorer and that's it. Pip was a better defender, ball distributer and shooter.

It's funny. People remember us passing on Jordan, but I'll always remember it as us losing the coin toss. Had we won the flippin' coin toss it would be Drexler/Olajuwon which is arguable better.

Just a little reminder fellas; but the Blazers had no interest in Jordan. If they didn't get Hakeem; their next choices were Bowie or Barkley.
