People are trying to shame Dan Snyder into changing it.

I disagree with your premise though people have been giving the Redskins flak over the name for a while.

Other Indians have been for years yeah, but i haven't heard any white people caring about it until recently. It doesn't help that Dan Snyder is a complete piece of shit either though.

If whites weren't getting offended on the behalf of other people they'd have nothing to do with themselves.

White people sure do like getting offended for other people, as long as it's mainstream.

I think it's been going on for a while, but now that the Redskins have a franchise player, and that franchise player wants huge endorsements, I think people feel this is a good time to push harder on getting the name changed. If RGIII speaks out against the name, I think they would have to change it. I think that's why there has been an increase in pressure. Make RGIII feel that he isn't going to sell jerseys or cologne as long as he plays on a team called the Redskins.

It's kind of like the feminism thing going through video games right now, no one cared for years and years, and suddenly to these people that didn't care for that time, it's the worst thing ever now.

And yet the people you see getting offended are male journalists that have been playing these games with no problems for years. It's all clickbait.

I don't know, there are a bunch of Native American theme named sports teams, and for the most part people don't care. It's just the Redskins is a little bit too far in the racist direction, especially when paired with their horrible logo. There is nothing redeeming about that name, it's not honorable like the Braves, it doesn't pay tribute like the Blackhawks, It's just the color of skin. It really is in bad taste. I don't care too much, but if it were my Blazers I would want it changed for sure. I wouldn't wear a logo or name from that team.

I'm not a fan of the name, but i don't care about the logo. I want to see some names like the Blackskins and Whiteskins, then i wouldn't care at all.

Redskins is probably the worst. If there was a team called the Dark Skins in Alabama or something like that, people would have flipped. What is the historical significance for American Indians in Washington DC?

Indians doesn't seem that bad to me. Obviously it's an inaccurate name, and I guess the logo could be considered offensive, but I don't think it's all that bad.

Braves is actually pretty cool I think.

    Chiefs is fine (imo)

I remember how much it sucked when they made Cleveland HS change their names from Indians.
