So....what the fucking fuck does that have to do with what I posted? Please try to address what it was I posted about, kthanxbye
I must have misunderstood your rant at MarAzul. I thought you went off because he pointed out the fact that Detroit has been under the rule of Democrats for 60 years. I have no idea what the Navy has to do with this, but perhaps you can add some context.
Julius, can you explain why fermented rabbit flesh mixed with cumin and pictures of Lorenzo Lamas isn't being used to stop unwanted boar pregnancy by the democrats?
Really? You were unable to comprehend the part of his that I directly quoted and what it had to do with the Navy? Here, I'll post it again. This time, in bold. This time, in Italics. This time, underlined. This time, with a larger font, in case your eyesight is going. This time, in red! This time, without quotes. MarAzul Said: Imagine this. Barrack Obama spent more money rescuing GM and Chrysler than the previous 10 President spent on the United States Navy, including all of the Nimitz class carriers. But it hasn't meant a damn thing to the City of Detroit. This time, in Italics.
My boss grew up in Detroit and he says the same thing. It became a town of internal political and union scams and graft. After a while, it all imploded. The best idea I have heard is to bulldoze most the city and turn it into a farming community.
Most of that bail-out money went to bail GM out of bankruptcy and to protect the pensions of the UAW. The actual bond-holders got fucked over in the GM bail-out, but GM isn't what was going to keep Detroit running. Again, I have no idea what you're talking about, because the GM bail-out is just a fraction of what happened to Detroit under the fraud and incompetence of Democrats over the last 60 years. It's like people take stupid pills these days.
At this point, I have to assume that you're a troll. How did the conversation about there not being a god go over with your nephew? Prosthelytizing to a youngster about how there isn't a God. You're "agnostic", though. LMAO
I'm addressing his claim that the total amount of $$ spent on the bailout was more than the total amount of money spent on the Navy over the last 10 Presidents. It's not really a difficult concept to understand. So apparently your inability to decipher such a simple, straight forward response to his comment suggests that you have OD'd on stupid pills.
sorry, I was busy eating stupid pills. It's not being used to stop unwanted boar pregnancies because it in fact, has the opposite effect.
We took our younger kid to see Sesame Street Live in the Fox theater (which is very nice) in Downtown Detroit in February this year. I figured the easiest thing to do would be for me to drop my wife and him off at the theater and to drive elsewhere and hang out until it was over and come pick them up. Here are some pictures I took nearby (with my phone, which is old and crap). (The one with my car in it is only to show how empty it is where they've knocked down a bunch of buildings, and this is a stone's throw from the heart of Detroit.)
If it makes you feel better, HCP, look up what Dan Gilbert (yes, Comic Sans, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert) is doing for Detroit. It'll warm your wizened little heart.
Please don't turn this actual quality thread into a democrat vs republican thing. Theres more to it than that.
qft. It's just easier to blame. I think it's a shame, no matter who is at fault, that Detroit is in such shambles.
So, I guess it means that throwing money at corrupt cities over efficiently run organizations doesn't yield results. Thanks, I already knew this. Proceed in bending me over, though.
Obviously politics have an (effect/affect) on everything in our day to day life, but I didn't want this to become a blame game from both sides. I know the first step was all the GM bigwigs leaving town. I'm just blown away by those pics Rasta posted. How do we have a major city in our country in this day and age slip to this 3rd world level. Do you guys honestly think they can come back or will it just become a wasteland?
