OK, I think this issue is over, now lets talk about what's not happening right now with the blazers. No new news on Batum, No new news on Lillard. Interesting right, I mean, I always hear the phrase "no news is good news" This must mean the Blazers are going to be awesome this year.

Being the predictions game guy, I almost feel like I need to start a predictions game on who the next person is to be banned.

I'm sad to see PapaG go but at the same time, I also like to have a place that is, at least relatively, civil. I think nearly everyone loses it a bit now and again and that is understandable. However, when "losing it" becomes the norm rather than the exception, I agree that some action needs to be taken to, hopefully, increase the civility level in the forum.

I appreciate the works the mods do and am just glad I am not one of them - not something I would want to do.

For the record, I will be the first to admit every time a mod felt the need to intervene and threaten me with suspension/expulsion, I pretty much deserved it. That being said, I completely disagree with the idea of banning someone just because they're insulting.

 

There's really nobody else who has even been remotely on our radar. Kingspeed got a warning for constantly bumping old threads, but that was over a year ago. HCP got a few warnings for getting into it with Mixum, but that was more than a year ago. I'd ban Sly, but I don't think I can

I come here for entertainment. PapaG was enormously entertaining. I'm going to miss him greatly. I hope the decision is reconsidered and he's allowed to return.

There's "insulting" and then there's "cancerous." I think most of us have, at one time or another, been insulting to another person on the forum. There have been a select few people though, who have really been disruptive, cancerous, and (imo) overly insulting. Telling someone they're stupid is technically a "personal attack," but making comments about their personal life, family, etc is what goes over the line. We have put up with it for a long time, we have given warnings, we've tried pleading, we've tried suspensions.... none of it worked. I'm not a fan of just editing or deleting because I don't think it solves anything. In fact, in most cases it only spurned him on more.

PapaG's posting was overall a negative to this board. I think that was pretty obvious. If that's what you come here for, maybe you should leave with him?

Entertainment is not why most people come here. I have my stories for that.

 

It just sank in! PapaG is gone! I actually remember when this version was new. It lasted a week on the radio.
