    I have relatives who live in Seattle, in Southern California, and in the Toronto area. They don't make 300K a year (about 100K or so on average) and they're not at the level you seem to imply those dirt poor people would be at.

    As for the "that's what i'm telling you", you obviously haven't been around too many average Americans if you think the city of Lake Oswego represent the average American, or that making 250K makes you not very well off.
