Pompous. Feewings. You kinda did and you kinda didn't. I didn't edit anything but at the least you're trying to needle the shit out of him.

    Just a friendly reminder.

Seriously, is SlyPokerDog fucking retarded? Take, for example, someone living in Arlington, VA. The buy their house in the 50s for $8-10K. They live a quiet life and want to sell their house. Now they're selling their three bedroom ranch for high six/low seven figures. They live on social security. Why would you hurt those people like that? You can go through story after story in every metro area in the country and come up with these examples. And all to pay for a government program that limits their health care options.

And you claim to be compassionate. Remarkable.

Honestly it wasn't on your behalf. In the PapaG was banned thread the biggest complaint is that the forum isn't moderated fairly. Some people made some very valid points.

I'm not one of life's losers who never left the cocoon of Portland and who need to ask others for help to obtain what they want. Pay your own way in life and then you can talk to me about these issues. Until that time, thank me for subsidizing your life.

I think I edited all the posts with those insults in them so that would mean, NO, I don't you should be calling anyone that.

I'm asking you to make an exception in my case. I never want an insult to me edited or deleted. Moderate others (including me), but please don't moderate those who cross the line when posting in response to me.

so instead of quoting the one that actually crossed the line, repeatedly, you quoted mine.

well, nice to see there's a double standard here.

Not sure what any of this has to do with anything.

But considering you have continued with name calling, I think it speaks to the heart of your problem. You are angry about something, and feel the need to put someone else down to build yourself up.

Fine, if thats what it takes to make you feel good about yourself, go ahead. Use a term that mocks people with special needs to make yourself feel better than me.

Btw, if they bought their house in the 50's for what you said, and sold it now for 500K+...guess what?

Chances are very good that if they were living on a fixed income, it meant they never really made a ton of money. So if they had a house for 60 years, and owned it, and then were on a fixed income once they retired, it means they don't make a lot of money. So the sale of their house would take up the majority of the exempt amount.

And if they could afford to pay the property taxes (assuming they live in a state with PT) on a house that apparently is worth a boat load of money (otherwise they wouldn't be taxed 3.8% above the 500K threshold), chances are that they could afford a one time hit of 3.8%...off of the sale of their house.

    Am I missing something here?

You're saying that people living on a fixed income, who bought a house in the 50's for 10K, sold it 2013 for an apparent HUGE profit...could afford to live in a house that was worth a LOT of money...on a fixed income?

Is this really what you want to say?

Why do you always want to debate with these naive, life long Portanders? I don't get it... Obviously must be some kind of reflection of yourself.

What it really serves to do is to reduce the ability to climb the economic ladder. It's tougher to save, tougher to make money, tougher to keep the fruits of your labor. Oh, everyone will be perfectly comfortable. You can rent a flat, you may one day have a car, but this is a system that benefits those that have already made their money.

I'm always wary of people telling you how much they care when they're getting so wealthy off of public "service".
