People think I'm being an a-hole for my position on this issue, but someone has to say it. When did we decide as a country that we were entitled to other people's money, when we can make due on our own? I have no problem helping those truly in need. I don't trumpet it, but there are ways I help the less fortunate at financial levels that would shock those that envision me as Monty Burns. However, when people sit on their ass and don't even try to make a better life for themselves, that's when I lose compassion.

Damn dude, if I was getting taxed close to 50%, I would be leaving this country. At least in the European countries that tax that high, you actually get something for it. I'm sure you're getting jack and shit for all those taxes you're paying Uncle Sam.
Exactly! I do my fair share of helping my community. All this has done is make it harder to donate to my local community. So the local community suffers, while my contribution is for a community I know little to nothing about.

I already give to my local assembly and community. I don't need the government to tell me who to give it to; especially when some are drug addicts or baby factories.
Actually I am getting taxed 40.5% from the Feds and 11% from the state. That's 51.5%. If I made 199k, I would make more money than I do now.
