Absolutely. The guy did not deserve to be run over. Are you saying the driver did it on purpose? I really don't think he drove over the dude on purpose.

But for a biker to be that crazy to slam on their brakes so they get hit by an SUV... With that many bikes around BEFORE the accident, with the SUV being surrounded as it was, you don't think the driver wasn't already nervous and intimated? Then some bat-shit crazy moron hits his brakes so you hit him. And now you're surrounded by all the crazy dude's friends? The driver was probably scared shit-less. I'm not surprised in the least he continued to drive off. I would've been on the phone with police immediately, if I'd have been that dude, and I'd have stayed on the scene as long as my safety wasn't threatened, but I can't say I'm shocked the SUV driver did choose to drive away, and the whole issue was caused by the moron that slammed on his brakes. So, ultimately, he's responsible for the injury to his friend. The driver could have been wiser, but it's really not surprising he drove away, and I do sincerely believe he had no intent to harm anyone.

    That's not what happened though.

The bikes are completely encircled around the SUV.

Dumbass pulls his bike in front of the SUV and slams his breaks on. SUV apparently hits him but we don't actually see it.

The SUV stops. All the bikes stop. There's a good 15 or 20 seconds of nothing. Just everyone sitting there. The camera can't actually see what's happening back where the SUV is stopped.

Suddenly the SUV guns it and runs over at least one bike and apparently a guy. At that point he runs off and the bikers run him down and beat his ass.

This says it all to me. I already understood why the guy drove off. But when they're ALREADY damaging your car and slashing your tires.......... that was BEFORE the dude got rolled over by the SUV, and only AFTER the initial crash where the douche bag biker slammed on his brakes. So yeah, let's blame the SUV driver for being scared. It's very unfortunate. But it's what can happen with you hang out with complete douche bag morons (i.e. the dude that slammed on his brakes and the guys that started damaging the SUV). What? Was the SUV driver supposed to sit there and take it?

WTF are you saying? That's not what happened? Huh? Did we watch the same video? Did I present something different than what was in the video?

I saw the video. I watched as he was kneeling down by his friend..I watched as the SUV drove the fuck over him. I have no idea what you are referring to unless you are only looking at the second incident where the riders were trying to get at the driver..

Reminds me of a few years ago there was a rash of people trying to cash in against insurance companies by taking their little hatchback in front of an 18 wheeler and slamming on the breaks. Technically its the truckers fault because they are behind. Several of the d-bags died doing that scam.

That's why I'm confused why NateBishop said, "That's not what happened though." I have no clue what he's trying to say.

Can't see that. Even though, legally, those that were attacking/chasing the SUV are liable for any injuries or death.

I dont know the laws in NY, but here in Oregon I believe that if you intentional run some one over, the vehicle is considered a deadly weapon, just like a drunk driving incident, the vehicle is considered such.

All the driver has to say that he was being accosted and/or chased and feared for his life. The evidence certainly supports it.

I'm assuming there was another video because the one I saw didn't show really anything.

So its a free for all? A real life version of GTA? "Hey, I was afraid, so a drove on the sidewalk and ran over your grandmother"? Sounds fair..man, the first incident was pretty calm until the guy drove the fuck over the bike rider. I concede that the second event six minuets and many miles later was where the driver had every right to be scared shitless..if those had been real bikers, he would have been dead

Okay, so that's the video then. Like I said, you can't even see the SUV from the 0:35 until 0:50 when the driver runs over the bike and the dude. So there's about fifteen seconds of the bikes and the SUV just sitting there. We have no idea what was said or done in those 15 seconds of everyone just sitting there (unless there's another video).

He was being chased and intimidated by many bikers. They all stopped in the middle of the road and were threatening. He was reasonable in fearing for his and his family's safety.

Dude, did you not read the recap of the incident posted like 10 posts ago? When the SUV was stopped after the initial douchebag slammed on his brakes, that's when the SUV had its' tires slashed and the car was being hit/dented. That's when the SUV then took over and ran over the dude that was trying to help his friend. So, the SUV driver was clearly already being threatened, causing his reaction to drive off. What's so hard to understand about this? If everything was calm and nobody was threatening the SUV/driver, no further incident would have occurred. Nobody gets run over.
