this message board is in the cloud. i can post here from any computer terminal, I'm not tied down to it. email too. docs, etc.
besides, PC = Personal Computer. Meaning you're tied down to one. Chromebooks, everything is in he cloud, man. So you can sign in on anyone's chromebook and have all your shit there.
Ah okay I feel you man. Apples been using that for about 10 years now. I thought this was something new.
My home computer broke a few months back, and I kept meaning to get a new one, but no rush with my iPad. Time went on, and now I'm just going to skip it, no need for a home computer for what I use it for. My iPad is all I need at home. If I have something that requires lots of typing I can do it at work, or just borrow a computer from work for the week. But my ipad mixed with apple tv and nice TV is all I need. All I want. Fuck all that extra bullshit, spending tons on something I will never adequately use. I'm sure other tablets are similar to the iPad, I'm just used to it and apple just works well for me, but I just think regardless of apple, microsoft or other, big expensive home computers are a thing of the past.
Icloud is horrible. Sure, for contact syncing, its fine (actually its a bit harder to work with and duplicates a lot).but for file drag and drop? Photos? Music? You still have to physically download everything. I use macs at home and work, I use Evernote and Dropbox for note and file syncing. I use google sync for contacts, just because it works a lot better.
You have to physically download? Dude when your shit is on the cloud; you are limited to the speed of the connection. I would never want that! The key is to access inboard processing and memory. If you link to a computer via web; your shit is slow as shit.
