because if you are going to project based on small sample sizes, you better use things that count...like FanFest MVP-dom and games where you get 10 fouls against D-Leaguers.

pulling your chain, Eric. Well, kind of.

I'm judging him on his NBA career thus far.

One thing's for damn sure - the referees were in midseason form as far as getting the Clippers to the FT line. Chris Paul even got shots with his patented 'kick out the legs on a jump shot to make it look like Lillard fouled him' move. God I hate the NBA (and love it at the same time).

Reading MM's original post, I saw lots of: Lillard looked ... Matthews was ... Batum looked ... Robinson was ... Claver made ... comments. The title was "first preseason game analysis". I didn't interpret the OP to imply MM thought that this is the way it was, and therefore forever it shall be.

For me, I took the original 'analysis' as a single data point, which raised some valuable points to revisit in future games until certain trends, tendencies, abilities and deficiencies can be confirmed or dismissed. I appreciated the analysis, just as I appreciated the opinions contrary to MM's.

I think we are a little stir crazy. I'd prefer to get past the practice games and into the actual season before we tear each other to shreds. And then, not.

I don't think we really need much more than one game for most of the guys.

We pretty much know the strengths and weaknesses for most of the players. At that point it's not really hard to project how they will play this season.

What annoys me is fans that say so and so played bad because they were 2-12 or he played great because he got a double double. I don't even look at that. Not better, not worse, just couldn't care less about stats. I see work, I see position on offense, I see feet position on shots, screens and defense, I see rebound position. That is how I determine who played well and who didn't. it's why I like Claver so much. He almost always does the right thing.

That's why I wanted to take the time and mention Freeland. Both him and Claver seemed to have put in some hard work during the off season. Are there more talented players on the team? Sure, not going to argue it but we need role players who are going to go out and do the task assigned to them. Claver and Freeland did that last night. Trob and Meyers not so much.

I'm a huge fan of claver too. He has the iq, work ethic and team orientation to be really good. If he could just have a deadly mid range game.

That's a very ignorant thing to say.

It's not that we don't expect people to have their opinions and make their comments, but just like you, many of us have our opinions. Holding players in preseason game numero uno, with guys trying new things, playing out of role just seems a bit odd. I at least read your opinion and had respect. Why respond with douche-y posts?

He was being sarcastic. It was a hint to all of the "attack the post, not the poster" drama going on in the last week.

You mean whining about being attacked and not stopping; while bleeding over to other threads?

I dunno if I believe that. Have you ever read his posts? I usually agree and get it, but don't attack people for having an opinion on your post when, one, you make a post, and two, it was a lame post.

So far I was only to watch the replay of the 1st qtr and I am glad you brought up Joel. Maybe he sucked after the first quarter, but the first minute he was in he scored, grabbed two rebounds and set a hard pick. Yes he was called for the offensive foul, but it was still a nice hard pick. (The foul was debatable, it was called because...... it was Joel IMO)

Anyways I focused on him after that, and he at least attempts to set a lot of screens.

Exactly. Very intentional and I doubt he stops. I have a feeling we will read his bitching for months.

I'm curious how many private complaints to the mods are? I expect them to be even more than what's public

Btw I forgot to mention I really like what I saw from Robin Lopez. I think he's going to fit in nicely.

Wow. You guys are incredible. It was total sarcasm. As for reading my bitching, that will only happen when you guys continue to drag shit out that isn't even as issue, or attack.
