Wow! The fact that Nolan Smith was considered our 8th best player really emphasizes how truly horrid our bench was last season.

To #81 without more blazers added, so our top 3 guys are top 80. #75 would be average 3rd best player. Hopefully we'll go some more spots before Batum goes.

    Reasonable.

It's just weird they'd give Butler such a high rating given he had a 15.2 PER last season. He was pretty good all around, but Jeff Teague was lower with his 16.8 PER (15/7 at PG).

I think it has to do with his reputation on the defensive end. PER doesn't really take defense into account.

Agreed, but he was a 26 MPG player. I mean, wouldn't Jamal Crawford for his offense and Butler for his defense be pretty much equal?

Butler was awesome in the playoffs and this isn't about last year's PER. It's about where he is now. Jimmy is a helluva player.

Crawford is a career 15.4 PER who plays terrible defense. Butler has upside while Crawford should decline.

Weren't you the guy saying Butler should be one of the centerpieces of a deal for LaMarcus? Now you've gone all Mediocre Man on him.

I think Butler has a lot of potential, but I've seen guys have success in the playoffs but fail to live up to expectations going forward. I don't want to jinx him.

Crawford had a 16.8 PER last season, and has been in the 6th man of the year discussion for the past several seasons.

Though the rankings are generous to my team, I am interested in them being realistic.

70 starts today, so the Blazers top three seem to still be on good pace. 70/30 = 2.33 which is greater than an average at 2.5

    #67 Tony Allen
    #66 Jimmy Butler

What am I missing guys? Isn't this too high for the last 3?

Not too high for Tony Allen. He is a stud. He does a lot and even more that doesn't show up in the box score directly.
