If he got to play every game against the Suns or Jazz, he probably would.

    OK a little bit encouraged.

-LA will be LA (he is in the peak of his career).

-I thought Lillard was the only Blazer that looked good against Phx and follows up another game playing at a different level . . . he will be OK. Don't know how much he can improve off last year. I would be happy with same offensive production and improving defense.

-I get what poeple are saying about Freeland. He really understands the game and he has good size . . . it just looks so mechanical and limited. But he is improving and having a slight impact on the court

But this is where my encouragement stops.

Concerned about Matthews' offense, Batum's consistency and Lopez's effectiveness. Because in the end I think this team will live and die by the starting unit. Hopefully there is a bench that can hold the fort so starters play 5 mins less a game, but if Blazers are going to make the playoffs the starting five will have to perform at their highest level consistently through the whole season.

I think Aldridge and Lillard are up to the task. Matthews, Batum and Lopez: TBD

Good take so far. It is still pre-season but those are my concerns as well.

We need more than Lillard and Aldridge. There needs to be that third player that will take us to the next level. I'm hoping and praying that it's batum.

I think the game will come easier for the other players when Aldridge is on the floor though. He demands so much attention.

I see freeland being a hard hat player. Nothing that will blow your mind, but could be effective if he would take some shots when he establishes a position.

I obviously didn't watch the game, so my opinion is off just the box score.

This game encourages me as much as the first 2 discouraged me.

Meanwhile, Lillard won't have Trey Burke to kick around:

"Utah rookie point guard Trey Burke, acquired from Minnesota after the Timberwolves selected him ninth overall in the NBA draft, broke his right index finger in the first quarter. He returned to play nearly eight minutes in the second quarter before X-rays at halftime revealed the fracture. Team doctors will further evaluate Burke's condition on Monday.

'We'll see what the specialists say but it's definitely a downer for us,' Utah coach Tyrone Corbin said. 'This is another obstacle we'll have to overcome, but we'll put our heads together, see what we have and go from there.'"

Breaking your opponents finger is a hell of a way to play defense. Nice job, Lillard!

The crowd went nuts. I think it shocked a lot of casual fans who hadnt really seen him play

I remember being surprised last year when Lillard threw it down for the first time. I had no idea he could dunk. Who was the last PG we had that could dunk somewhat often?

Almost every person in the league can dunk.. JJ Barea probably can't.

Little Burke can't. He has a broken finger. How come Sarah looks so happy hanging out in the locker room?

Andre Miller maaaybe dunked twice as a Blazer. I don't remember Sergio and Blake ever doing it. Damon and Patty couldn't dunk on a grade school rim. Jarrett Jack could dunk, provided he didn't turn the ball over by the time he got elevated. Greg Anthony might have been able to, but it's pretty hard to be positioned to when you live at the three point line. Bayless could dunk, but couldn't pass.

Looking back, Lillard is easily the most athletic true PG the Blazers have had since I became a fan in the mid-90's.

I remember Jack dunking in his very first game for us at home. Don't remember many more though.
Blake dunked off a jump ball down at staples against the lakers. Almost did it again at Milwaukee but finger rolled it.
