If he got that much; batum seems like a steal. I would rather have batum over this kid any day of the week

Wow... he's a good player but that seems like a lot for Moochie.

The Jazz are nuts to offer this guy that much money. Betting against themselves.

last summer I was unsure if batum was worthy of the money he got . this makes me think that olshey is doing a pretty good job of managing the purse strings. Utah, well maybe they should have let the market set his value before jumping in with this kind of money.

Batums contract was neither above nor below market value. I said this at the time. Guys like Afflalo, Gallinari, Nic all fall into the same general category. Hayward in in that same category. 50 might be stretching it a bit, but not completely ridiculous.

Agree with Nate that it seems steep for Hayward. But he is a big part of the Jazz future and they are locking him up for 4 yrs. I think it was good move by the Jazz.

Steph Curry also signed for 4/44. :MARIS61:

Yes, the Gordon Hayward contract is horrendous. Doesn't make Batum's any better though, it just make the Blazers less moronic than the Jazz.

Signed last offseason when his ankle concerns were at an all-time high. He would have been an RFA this offseason, probably looking at a max deal.

He is the 4th highest paid Warrior this coming season, making 9.9 mil for 2013-14.

Injury issues aside (granted, that could bite them in the ass), that's an outright steal.

Hayward's going to be a star. So yes, the contract is justified.

What are you talking about? I like just as many black players as white. What do you have against white guys? Look at the numbers he put up last year as a 22 year old.

Those numbers are solid, but they're not 'star' numbers.
