I'm still hopeful to see DAT more at WR/slot vs devoted RB/TB. Marshall and Tyner are proving more than adequate to carry the rock. DAT creates havoc, long with figurative and literal fear in opposing secondaries - and he's a great WR.

Me too. I think that's what they'll do.

reporter..."are you worried at all about getting hit again?"

DAT... "I don't really get hit that much"

that response drew a big laugh from the gathered media, but I don't think he was making a boastful joke so as much as stating the truth. Quickness, cutting ability & raw speed like his puts defenders on their heels and hoping to wrap up rather then deliver a big hit. We'll see, but he was saying that he was really close last week and should be fine.

He was smiling a lot... I think he's always stoked to play the LA schools

DAT, Marshall and Tyner make this the top RB core in the nation.

As to moving DAT to WR, in general I am not opposed but we have several excellent ones as it is.

exactly. I do like the idea of using motion moving him (and others) in and out of the backfield and WR sets prior to the snap to vary the looks though

I think DAT was at his best during his freshman season where the Ducks moved him around a lot. It doesn't seem like we pass it to him as much as we did that year.

The purpose of moving DAT to slot is because of the mismatch it creates. No LB can defend him and it creates a very sticky challenge for a defense. DAT at WR even creates mismatches because either a defender has to give him space and play off or risk being burned deep. When a defender is off, we dump the quick out and utilize DAT's speed and our excellent blocking WR's to spring him. If he's being played tight, DAT can get space on almost any route.
