So you think that is a good representation of Beaverton? Should I google crime rate Portland and post the first thing I see and say I'm just showing you what popped up on google.

Anyways, whatever. Your not a suburb guy, I get that. But everytime you crack on suurbs I'll be here to remind you what sucks about the NE (even though I actually like many parts of NE . . . first house was on 12th and Fremont)

I suck at posting pictures. But going for a walk with the family is one of the better parts of Beaverton. So many bike and walking trails, tons of THPRD parks and activities. . . . it is actually a mecca of activities for families.

Portland's minority population - 24% of all residents, 76% white.
Tualatin's minority population - 21% of all residents, 79% white.

Portland is the whitest "major" city I can think of! Really, is there a less racially diverse major city in America?

It's amazing that Portland is more white than Salt Lake City, and according to the chart posted, only has one more minority per/100 than a lily-white suburb such as Tualatin!

It's so weird to me. I grew up and our schools were probably 60-40 white/black. Classes were always half black......although I don't think I ever saw one of Mags kind til after HS!

Wonder where they get these numbers. Been to SLC 40 times and NEVER seen anything but white people there. And do they look at Portland as a whole, not neighborhoods?

Do you go to different places in the city each time, or the same places? They probably get their numbers from the census

I've been to SLC 4 times, but had some of the best Mexican food I've ever had while there, and nobody in the joint spoke English.

They're getting numbers from life, and not the biased view of reality you have.

You grew up in N. Portland though. Its where all the diversity is at. I was looking at my grade school pictures and it was half black, half white.

SW and a majority of SE Portland is all white.

Delivering in the ghetto parts of SE Portland I'm amazed at how many Asians and Russians there is.
