OK, so if I understand this correctly, with few exceptions everyone in the country who does not have heath insurance on the job or retired on Medicare must purchase healthcare. Therefore, as every person will have healthcare the feds are systematically shutting down free clinics (this is not a question as I know it to be a fact- also, at the free clinic I donate time to they have the option of either shutting their doors or accepting Obamacare for each and every patient. Those who do not have it are to be reported to the feds. We have not decided what we wil do yet as we still have a month or so to decide. Free healthcare to the poor and needy is not outlawed). So the questions is this... now that all citizens are required to purchase healthcare, what happens to the Oregon Health Plan? I mean, there is no need for it any longer since all citizens are mandated to purchase their own. Or does OHP shift to illegals only?

Serious answer, OHP is still a valid plan. link

I'm just curious if the free clinics being shut down are not meeting regulations.

Ours is. We have MD and DMD and treat 4,000 people per year. The feds sent a letter stating that under Obamacare people can no longer be treated for free and that their respective healthcare provider must be billed. Any patients without healthcare must be reported. They had a contract to be signed for us agreeing and if we do not sign, the doors must be closed.

The unintended effects of a very poorly thought out law are going to become more and more evident.

Curious that you would question regulations, dont you know that they only matter if it fits the agenda being championed by the left?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/28/texas-abortion-unconstitutional_n_4171087.html perfect example of regulations and public will be damned

    Did I?

I asked my boss and he opines OHP will either disappear or become an arm of Medicare in some way.

I can see it being absorbed into the Cover Oregon program..nothing the Gov does surprises me anymore. I dont see how it can be sucked into Medicare as that is a federal program..but again, it is the Gov..

I've got nothing but questions about the ACA. Here are a few off the top of my head that matter to me since I'm going to be applying for this coverage:

As I understand it, enrollment is only open (after the initial signup period which has been extended to March) for 3 months prior to the start of each year. What happens if you move out of state in the middle of a year?

Income limits for a tax credit for a family of 2 top out at a bit over $62,000. Income limits for an individual are around $47,000, IIRC. Can married couples choose to file their income taxes separately and get individual policies, thereby raising the total income limit to around $94,000. If not, is it intentional to build into the act a marriage penalty?

Is there any reason that you can't choose a cheap bronze plan right now, if you're healthy, and then jump to a gold plan in the next open enrollment if you get a serious illness? If not, then isn't that kind of practice going to impact the financial stability of the whole house of cards?

What happens if you fill out your income estimates in good faith, qualify for a tax credit, and then have a much better than expected income? Do you have to pay back all of the tax credits plus get hit with the full premiums the next year?

Ha! Think about getting fired. So you sell your house before you lose it, pay the transaction tax
and then find your profit also boost you right out of any help on buying insurance. Of course the same thing happens to many when they retire, move some where into a smaller house.
Wham! Whack! Smack! Well this stuff was never intended to help those Americans, they are the source of the funds!

Republicans are up to the job of solving these difficulties about making rules. When the going gets tough, Republicans get going. They don't back off, bleating, "Waah! It's impossible!"
