I was sort of shocked that Robinson only got 9 minutes. I thought he looked OK out there.

Stotts was pretty clear that he's going with a 9-man rotation, so Claver/Leonard/Barton aren't seeing much time. Crabbe may not dress for games when CJ gets back.

I don't remember seeing a Lillard/Batum/Wright/Robinson/LMA lineup tonight---I'm very interested in that, especially on days that Mo's shot/game is off and the team isn't rebounding

Ya seriously. When LA turns into Lasoftie on the boards, put TRob next to him.

It's because Aldridge was one of our only shot makers and he's not interested in playing center. Thus, only 9 backup minutes For TRob at PF.

It's actually a really good idea.

Are you fucking serious? He shot 50% from the field and he started gunning when no one else could score and we were down by 16 points. He is our best scorer. Not sure it is possible for him to shoot too much with this team.
You don't stop your best shooter from shooting because he happens to be listed as a PG and not a SG

Yeah, I think I'd rather have him go for 32/2 and lose by 13 than go 14/2 (plus 11 "if they would've made them) assists and lose by 30.

Lopez' 2 boards in 34 minutes was the most striking stat to me, considering he had rebounded solidly in the preseason. I'm guessing it was an aberration, and we'll see a more focused effort on the boards in Denver from him.

My only guess was that Stotts thought Freeland had more size to guard Plumlee.

I would have been happy had nobody outside of LMA and Lillard taken a shot tonight.

It's not meant to explain anything. It's just a fact so far this season.

Well I agree that the offense leaves much to be desired. But the Damian chucker bullshit is ridiculous. Same as it is when people said it about Roy or Durant or Kobe. Your best shooter needs to shoot. I agree they should run better plays, but run them for Lillard. I get that others need to shoot the ball too, but he was 10-20/ 6-12 tonight.

Last year we won our season opener. Yes, we beat the Lakers. We played Nolan Smith, Sasha Pavlovic and Jared Jeffries and we won by double digits. Much enthusiasm ensued. Briefly.

Over the last 20 years, since the 93’-94’ season, our 1st-game winning percentage for those years in which Portland made the post-season, is only 46% (6-7).

Over that time, Portland has missed the playoffs 7 times. Portland’s 1st game record for those years was 4-3 (57%).

So historically, our 1st-game success is higher in non-playoff years.

Portland has had a 10-10 record in their 1st game over the last 20 yrs. The combined record for years in which Portland won their 1st game is 420-384 (52.2%). The combined record for years in which Portland lost their 1st game is 428-360 (54.3%).

So dry your red and black tears. Re-tape all your Blazer posters back up on the walls of your moms basement. Apologize to your neighbors. Pop a few Ambien. And then, ever so slowly, gently remove your head from your ass long enough to look in the mirror and tell yourself, "it's going to be okay."
