To clarify, I am talking purely about style of play. rough, tumble, bad ish boys. Not that we will dominate games all the time.
I actually don't think we're considered choir boys at all. No one in the league is a "bad boy" anymore, mostly due to the fact that the officiating of this era doesnt allow it any more. If teams were allowed to be more physical, we'd have a few more bad boys, and with the attitudes of guys like Dame and Wes, we'd be a lot "badder" than we seem to be. I think the norm is closer to the Denver game, with a more reasonable 3 point percentage. But our shooting last night was not an anomaly... think about it, how many dead-eyes do we have on this team? Dame is Curry-lite, which is crazy. Wes is a sniper, so is Batum, Wright and Mo. Even our 3rd string centre is a good 3 point shooter. This team has the best shooting top to bottom in the league. One thing I'd like to see more of is Dorell Wright. He fits the system, plays good D, has long arms and athleticism. Line-ups with Dame, Batum, Wright, LMA and Lopez are going to be very dangerous.
Most of our three's last night were the result of good ball movement. Many were in transition. But one thing I noticed in watching the replay was the spacing. All those shooters help, LMA was mixing it up well, moving to open space. The one problem I noticed was that when Trob was in the game, we ran the same motion offense as when LMA was in. Meaning Robinson was also moving to the open space. But as we know, that is useless. He can't shoot a wide open 12 ft' jump shot. They need to figure out a solution for that.
I'd like to see this as well but I suspect his minutes will fluctuate based on how well both Batum/Wes are playing.
I think the Denver game is much more along the lines of what this team can do. We don't play well against Phoenix. They were one of our two losses during preseason, and for some reason they just seem to have our number. I think Phoenix is being very underrated.
