This list is such a fucking joke. 9 out of the 10 mentioned are Portland. Let's face it, it's a metropolitan area. It's pretty much the same city. Certain areas are better than others, but to hand pick basically every suburb of Portland as the top 10 best in Oregon is just bullshit. Eugene is, has always been, and will always be, the best place to live in Oregon. And I love Portland, and have lived there.

If you go 20 minutes SW of Medford or 20 minutes SE of Grants Pass you'll be in Ruch ... so yeah, half-way between, just not in a straight line.

That's why I googlemapped it. It's not really "right on the border", depending what you consider "right on the border". And it's not really halfway between Medford and Grants' Ass via the crow's flight or typical driving methods (I-5), but I suppose if you take a crazy back road, it could be halfway.

While Maris is a bit overzealous in his description, I tend to agree more with his assessment than the one given out in this blog.

15 miles North of the Border and the only way to get there is via "crazy back roads."

I don't describe Ashland to be "on the border" and it's closer than Ruch.

As for the "crazy back roads", I should have been more clear. I just meant it's not physically halfway between the Medford and Grants' Ass when you look at it on a map.

Basically, I was trying to say your description of the location weak/misleading, without actually saying it (no disrespect intended). Saying one OR city is midway between two other OR cities and yet still "on the border" really makes no sense in your description. I mean, Ruch is south of both of those cities (at least according to 3 maps I've looked at, including Google Maps). The only way your description could logically be true would be for all 3 OR cities to be on the OR/CA border.

Ruch must be quite the hole in the ground, i've never heard of it. If you want to get lost and never be found again, go to Chiloquin or Bonanza. Crazy indians and meth head white people.

Gotta say this discussion has raised pedantry to levels never before seen ... all over a shithole "town" no one has ever heard and no one would ever want to live in. Bravo.

Well, let's be honest: You're description sucked. It really made no sense. And if two people (of the 5-6 in this world reading this thread) were confused by your description, it pretty much tells me your description was poor. Bravo.

I'm sure I could have done a better job of giving pinpoint directions, but to be honest it just didn't mean that much to me. Have a nice day.

Ah yes, you don't care about anything. That's why you're constantly complaining.

Now he knows why I wanted to know how to pronounce "Rouche" and what it rhymed with.

Fuck me - I was just asking for clarity on the location. I've lived in Oregon my entire life and I'd never heard of it, so I was curious (and I've spent a fair amount of time in Medford, Ashland, and Grants Pass.

    People are so touchy.

Yes but some of us are touchy in a good way.

As in when Mrs Hcp gets touchy with my penis.
