I doubt any team would give us a future all-star PF for LA. It'd be a pretty stupid move on their part.

I'd look for a team with a servicable PF and a probably high lottery pick. Maybe get Hickson from Denver as a possible example (LA for JJ and 2014 first round pick). That way we can hopefully find a "can't miss" PF and build a goodyoung team.

This does not make sense to me now than it did the other 50 times it has been discussed.
Why again would Presti trade Harden for a max player? Essentially you are saying he is an idiot. That the reason he traded Harden was NOT because of money. That even though he watched him for three years he had no clue how good he was? Or that even though they reached the finals with him, he was not a good fit with Westbrook?

Is Presti really that stupid as you are suggesting?

I don't know anything about Henson, but I think OKC should look into that trade idea.

I don't know if they WOULD do that trade, but they are lacking a big. Granted, it's not like LaMarcus is in the paint often (although in OKC he'd pretty much have to).

Taking back Perkins would still fit into the 2015 time table. Serge wouldn't (but he wouldn't be a bad pickup).

The Blazers would have to waive someone.

I think the only way Denver does that is if they have a trade in the works to trade LaMarcus. He does them no good.

And good lord, let's stay away from players who would make the teams defense WORSE.

If he is, he'd have traded Durant by now.

IMHO any trade to Houston shouldn't involve Houston's own picks because they'll be WCF champs for the next 6 years. Therefore, it needs to involve a serviceable replacement for LMA, and as many good bench players as possible to shore up our team. I like Beverly, Asik, Parsons, and every draft pick that isn't theirs that they might own at the minimum. You get defense, post play, and potential. We still get hosed, but if you want to get younger folks around Lillard and Batum, that's going to happen.

I'm on my phone; how old is Asik?

Yes. I said for years prior OKC should build a big 3 with Harden. They decided to spend more money than Harden would cost on Ibaka and Perkins instead.

No doubt that should have been the direction. But people who defended Presti assumed that he was forced to do it by the owners. That they could not afford 3 max (Or near max) contracts. Was his hands tied? or is he a moron?

I just don't think that LMA would be a better fit alongside Westbrook and Durant than Harden.

I don't get this notion that our best players all need to be in the same age group.

    LA: 28
    Nic: 25
    Dame: 23

For example, look at San Antonio.
    Duncan: 37
    Manu: 36
    TP: 31

As a self-proclaimed homer, this thread will never piss me off because nobody ever come's up with any legitimate trades.

A LaMarcus trade is very difficult because he is only going to want to resign with a contender, so what team will have a large amount of talent to give us but afterwards still be a contender?

I would consider Houston for Asik, Lin to match salary, and unprotected picks in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020. They mortgage the future but it gives them a better chance at a title now. I agree Houston would not want to trade Parsons and their other assets are worth almost nothing.

Golden State would be interesting if we could get Barnes and Klay Thompson somehow. They would probably want to trade us David Lee with only one of them.

One team I haven’t heard before is New Orleans. We could probably get our favorite out of Eric Gordon, Jrue Holliday, or Tyreke Evans. Gordon can opt out of his contract in 2015 just when LaMarcus ends, I’m not enamored with Tyreke so I’d probably try to get Jrue. Would they be willing to give us him and Ryan Anderson? New Orleans is pretty close to Texas and alongside Anthony Davis I think LaMarcus may find a happy home.

In this case Presti made a big mistake. If they gave max contracts to Durant, Westbrook, Harden they would still be $24 million under the luxury tax. The problem was he gave contracts worth more than the max to Ibaka and Perkins first. He should’ve traded those two away for assets and kept Harden. My guess is Presti overplayed his hand, and signed the inferior players first backing the owners into a corner where he thought they would bite the bullet and pay for Harden. They choose not to.

GS is probably the most enticing team for a trade to me, with their intriguing young talent and with Lee they could still gun for the playoffs if they wanted to do that instead of tank.

He did offer something. He offered his opinion of your trade proposal. This is an online internet forum. It's all about people offering their opinions. You've been around long enough you should know that by now.

Not sure how rep worthy it was, but I though it deliciously ironic that the ONLY poster who seems pissed is the one LEAST likely to be considered a homer.
