I have a tattoo that if you google it, it's the most famous for what it says. I have a distant cousin that is one of the greats in Euro soccer. My other distant cousin played for New England for years, and was considered their star before Bledsoe. My uncle helped start AOL, and worked at Yahoo for years, running a department that made them their most money (and was friendly with their CEO), worked for someone Time mag named one of the most influential in technology industry for the next decade, knows the head of the FBI, etc. I know David Lucas (son of Maurice, big deal for me). I know Steve Johnson. I know Germany's best known winemaker (he's considered one of the best in the world). I know many celeb winemakers (though it means little to most of you). My friend is married to a long-term KGW reporter. I'm good friend with a few peeps that are well-known rappers in the local scene. My friend is partial owner in one of the best-known local burger joints. I know the best OSU receiver (I also know the Reser's and have season tickets for knowing them). My wife's aunt dated Oscar de la Hoya. That's only half of it. Edited. Boom I win. Or not. I don't care. Edited. Do I win an award?
5th cousins with the Kostelic skiers from Croatia. Janica has won 4 Olympic gold medals. Ivica won 3 Olympic silver medals. Met them in 2009 at Steamboat for a family function during the early World Cup season. May be meeting up with Ivica at Mt. Bachelor in February, since he's never been there, and wants to ski it.
shit, you guys are making me feel like a loser now. I'm related to no one famous, I found out that the kid I thought was related to Chris Miller was just kidding AND I can't suck my own D (not that I would, that'd be "teh ghey")
One of my golfing buddies caddies for Ben Crane. I was in a Blazers commercial. I wwnt to school with Eric Castle who played for the Chargers in the Super Bowl. My Dad knew Scatman Crothers. My Stepmother was once married to the stuntman that Jonathan Winters pushed through the gas station wall in It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. She was very good friends with Robert Conrad. I once drank beer with Pat Travers. I was paid by Metal Church to take live photos for an upcoming tour of Japan. I was an extra in a movie that still hasn't been released. I talked smack to Mario Elie in a bar after his first game back as a Rocket without having the faintest idea who he was. I nailed a chick two nights before she got nailed by Cliff Robinson. My boss sings for a local band who opened for Three Dog Night at the Linn County Fair. I went to school with the guys who sold pit bulls to Zach and Quintel. My cousin played about two dozen different alien characters on Babylon 5 and Star Trek TNG. I have an autographed photo of Eric Millegan on my desk.
You say you went to school in Salem. Crossler Middle School perhaps? Darrell Crossler is famous, they named a school after him.
Denny didn't answer me, so he probably thought I made that up. I also have some locally famous ones in other places, but it would mean nothing to anyone here decades later. Maxiep gave the best answer.
yeah..some sports guys through my brother, some music guys through years of of playing, my cousin being a studio musician and composer. Some movie folks through friends and social events.
AC Green is a cool dude. My grandpa was good friends with AC's dad, so I got to meet AC. He hooked me up with autographs from all the Suns back in the day (when KJ and Barkley were on the team).
