All the other TUF shows get their own sticky thread. Here we got all kinds of drama with The Ultimate Fighter Russo v Tate, and not even a thread.

I really think Russo and Tate hate each other and it I get the feeling Russo is going to snap at anytime and take Nate's head off. I've dated bi-polar girls and I swear Russo is bi-polar . . . crying one minute, threatening to destroy Nate the next. On top of that she is one mean ass chick with shoulders that could make a rhino tap out. Nate is acting tough, but I think she probably has some fear about getting into the ring with Russo.

It is neat to see how focused the girls are and how serious they are taking this opportunity. Am I the only one watching this?

The last few season threads I've made didn't get replies so I figured nobody here was watching. I'm not.

    Re: Chicks get no respect

    Speed help me out.

I am a MMA fan, but admittedly not a knowledgeable fan. So what am I missing about these TUF's shows? Is it a much lower quality of MMA? Because I find the show entertaining. In particular, to me it shows how much these people have dedicated to the sport with little or no financial compensation back. Then they are given this opportunity to get a career in the sport but forced to live in a house and train with people they have to fight. For some reason I find the show very compelling. Also it seems that some of the fighters go on and have successful careers in UFC.

But again I must be missing something because people who are into MMA don't watch or comment on the show.

I think you really have to be an MMA junkie to have watched since 2005 and remain interested (it's the 18th season of the show). I think it's that coupled with the fact that there's just a lot more MMA content on television these days making it easier to get a fix. I believe the premiere for this season was the lowest rated premiere in the history of the show. Has a lot to do with the show changing channels (again).

Constantly changing channels/timespots tends to be a ratings killer. It doesn't help that the quality of the competitors seems to be badly slipping. Who was the last winner from the show to actually make an impact? (as opposed to the early seasons, when even the guys who lost often went on to succesful careers)

Since season six, only one fighter (Dodson) has worked his way to a title shot.

God time goes by fast. What season was Big Country the winner?

But thanks for the explanation. I used to like the contender for boxing too. So for me it must be I like to learn a little about the people who are fighting. I can always stop flipping to watch an MMA match, but if I don't know much about either fighter, it doesn't hold my interest as much.

That's fair and that's what TUF is all about.

    Roy won season ten.

Rousey continues to be bi-polar and seems to have a male sidekick with the same personality. They were all over Caraway for some tweet where he said he would bash Rousey teeth in. This is setting up for some kind of octagon tag team boyfriend/girlfriend fight.

Having girls and guys in the house adds more drama and the fact they train together adds another interesting dynamic.

I've always prefered Rousey to Tate, but watching this show now favor Tate much more. Rousey in her psychotic normal self explains that she respects Tate as a fighter but will have no problem breaking her arm in half because she brought it on herself. She wants to cause maximum amount of pain to Tate . . . and we are only in week 3. I don't think it is for show, I think Rousey is seriously psychotic and hates Tate.

It seems that is the prevailing sentiment, that Tate is becoming a more sympathetic character due to Rousey's childish behaviour. Dana White thought that once the reviled Brian Caraway became a bigger part of the show that the paradigm would flip over again and people would get back on Rousey's side but the lunatic Armenians that she surrounds herself with will muddy the waters.

Nate Diaz won't be at the finale in order to attend his high school reunion.

after skipping the last several seasons of the show, I have been watching (well PVR'ing) the show and with the addition of the women fighters, who almost never put on a bad fight, I've been more invested in this season.
Rousey is coming off pretty poorly and I'm pretty sure that's not the UFC's or Fox's agenda. To make their female golden goose look bad. She's just extremely tempramental and seems to need to find any perceived sleight for motivation to hate/defeat her opponent.

So the latest episode was a bit of a dud for me. Rousey is still psycho, but she has turned it down a notch and her team winning has helped her. Whoever her guy mate is has issues but he is kind of a who cares kind of person.

The gals training with the guys was interesting but the fight killed this weeks show in my mind. If this is the best group the woman have, they have a long way to go. That was not high quality fighting, IMO. The first female fight surprised me as it was more intense and competitive than I expected. Maybe that set me up expecting more of the same?

Anyways, hope next week either provides more Rousey drama or a good fight. I"m looking forward to the Rousey/Tate fight . . . although I think Rousey will dominate.

It's been a week but that last female fight was awesome. Didn't think they would have the endurance to give a good 3rd round, but those two dug deep and put on a show. Completely opposite of the female fight before which is good because I was ready to give up on the show this season (not impressed with the male fights so far).

Rousey has toned down her bi-polar attitude and is becoming likeable for me. Although with another loss she will probably lose it again and every time she threatens to hurt Tate in their fight and her face twitches, I fear for Tate. :)

LAst night's fight between the guys was another snore fest. Tate is now looking like the petty/bad person and Rousey the good person. The fighters on Rousey's team seem much more bonded to her than the fighters bonding with Tate. I think the fighters just dig Rousey's energy . . . even if a little on the psychotic side. Not sure what is up with the male Rousey and I think they should put him against Caraway on the undercard. I still hold hope the two coaches can't control themselves and decide to settle it right then and there on the show. :)

Couple more fights I'm looking forward to. But when it comes to MMA, my attention is now on Cain vs. De Los Santos . . . let's get it on!

Well I'll be damned, I really didn't see this thread. So who do you think has the nicer rack? Ronda Rousey or Miesha Tate?

So I am still following the series. I am a Tate fan in this show, but honestly it looks like Rousey is somehow coming out as the good person on the show. She seems tighter and more bonded with her team. Her team seems to really like her. They are portraying Tate like she is two faced and shallow . . . maybe she is.

Rousey physically and mentally is one scary chick. I don't know why I'm so drawn to her, it's like I'm scared of her and that excites me.

God I hope no one reads this on the official Blazer board. :)
