That most Americans still believe the party of the puppet(s) has any effect on what our government does proves most Americans are indeed uneducated and extremely gullible.
Well, since we have been refused any healthcare plan for the last 4 years due to a supposed pre-existing condition (which no longer exists) that statement never concerned me. If you were paying for a skeleton plan that doesn't meet Obamacare's meager requirements you were pretty much throwing your money away anyway. But like you said, there's a lot of idiots out there. Obama's wish was for a single-payer system, which is the only possible successful approach to universal quality healthcare for an entire country. That is why people voted for him. Due to republican sabotage and democrat leadership that is owned by the insurance lobby, we ended up with Hilary Clinton's healthcare plan. This was the only issue that tipped the scales to Obama from Clinton and most Dems would have voted for Clinton had they known their party was going to abandon Obama's plan for hers.
Well, bully for you! You were so angry about your own situation that you didn't care if Obama lied. It didn't matter that millions of people would get kicked out of their perfectly acceptable health plans because YOU didn't have one at all! Bravo!! Under Obamacare's "meager requirements," 70-year-old women have to have maternity coverage, and people who don't use drugs have to be covered for addiction treatment. This is a prime example of the government thinking it knows best and getting it all wrong. There are millions of people in this country who are quite happy with their health care plans, but people like you and Obama are arrogant enough to think you can force them to buy a plan they don't want and don't need for 3 times the price of their old plan. No wonder this whole cockamamie program is falling apart. And yet Obama not only pushed for his system, he proudly let it carry his own name!! If he's such a brilliant guy, such a wizard at governing, why did he risk his reputation and all his political clout on a system that you say is impossible to implement?
Kinda gotta agree with Shooter on the healthcare fiasco. That shit sucks. My so called "skeleton" plan is fine for me because I have free supplemental insurance as well. Combine the two and voila I'm good to go. Now, instead of keeping my old plan, I am possibly forced to upgrade to a more expensive (and not needed) plan. Sure I could downgrade, but then the deductibles are jacked out of proportion, which was the reason why I preferred my old plan. And Obama is terrible IMO, and I usually am on the Dems side, but after Obama, he may have swung me over to the Repubs with his bullshit.
County hospitals are govt (county) run. They are where you go if you can't afford to pay. We already have quite a few. Cook County had a really big and busy one when I lived there. Bellview is a county psych hospital in NYC where they send crazy people picked up off the street. If these don't suffice, it wouldn't take 16% of the economy to build more and hire doctors to provide actual Health CARE to those who don't have insurance. They could also pass laws requiring companies to allow kids up to 26 on their parents' policies, portability, non cancelable policies, etc., without requiring a mandate or tax of any kind.
Odd, isn't it, that a president who champions "choice" in other areas is denying you the choice to choose the level of health coverage you want (?) You and a lot of other people, probably.
That's what I said. Conservatives pretend that this useless, all-encompassing polling question shows opposition only to Democrats. Everyone on the left answers "yes" to the question. Only moderates are satisfied.
