Seems to me like your post was more "cranky bitch" than "mostly in jest". Anyhow, any suspensions from the slapping fest last night?
Lol. But no, I don't really get too cranky. Not over college football. OSU is little brother, Ducks are pretenders. I don't really care about BP's sig, but he and I give each other shit all the time here, so I figured I'd give him some more. Someone took it a little bit serious.
I apologised 5 minutes after the initial post. I mis-read what you were talking about because some how my signature feature was turned off. I never saw what you were referring to. I admit it was my bad, I should have ignored your post regardless. Probably a good reason why we have a separate forum for college football.
I hope no suspensions come out of this. If they suspend Bogut, they are probably going to suspend Mo as well and the Blazers don't need that right now. I thought the fact Bogut wasn't ejected was "bogus," but the unfairness of it seem to motivate LA and the Blazers . . . so in the end it favored the Blazers. I say call it good and move on.
Inadvertent elbow is the same as an inadvertent punch, if it lands around the neck and above. http://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_k.html Bogut threw an elbow at freeland that connected around his neck and chin and also pushed (closed fist) Mo Williams above the should level. Even Mo's supposed punch was "open handed"; which means it wouldn't be considered a punch.
I understand the 2nd tech was the reason for the ejection, but I don't recall him doing anything deserving of the 2nd tech. It looked to me like he was initially trying to separate the scrum. Same with Mo until he got shoved around a bit - only then did he lose control. Admittedly my memory is foggy. LMA totally traveled before getting leveled. He took a hard hit, but Lee was in the air and LMA walked, literally, right into it.
Yeah, I used to read his analysis after everygame, this last off-season and season has changed my opinion of his work. I wonder if he had some non-Blazer drama?
You're correct, he did travel, but lee was walking by with his chest puffed out instead of having class and making sure he was ok. Twice this season blazer players have seen opponents go down with injury and they almost stop play before coaching staff yells at them to play the advantage. It's the classy thing to do to make sure a man down is ok. Rivalries are fun but no one deserves an injury. I'll try to find the photo again but I saw a picture of lee and bogut high fiving after the scuffle, they knew they couldn't win without it. Blazers made them look like fools by winning anyway
It's all good dude. Go Blazers. But seriously, when are we going to hear something, anything, about penalties? If Portland is punished at all (beyond maybe a fine), I call BS.
I find it interesting that Outlaw was fined 15K on 11/24 (a Sunday) for something he did 11/23 (Saturday night) but we haven't heard anything. If the NBA doesn't place any fines/technicals on the players they would be admitting that the refs called it right on the floor.
