In addition I think this should remind people of the perspective that when your obviously going for it now and/or the player is clearly being shopped your not going to get what you think is fair value for him. (*cough* Omer Asik) HOU fans need a dose of reality in what they think vs what they will likely get for Asik

He's a bit like Thomas Robinson, underwhelming so far in his career.

lol ;) And the hits just keep on coming. I think those people would argue picks were included, even though Minn denied it.

Interesting trade. I like Mbah a Moute as a defensive role player. Pretty bad on offense but I wouldn't mind having him as a 9th man you could throw at the elite SFs of the league.

Sac gets another talented player who's underperformed their talent level. On a purely cultural level its a step back to trade Luc for Williams. But they suck and they could use all the talent they can get.

What really confuses me is why the hell is Sac loading up on middling PFs? Jason Thompson, Carl Landry, Patrick Patterson, Derrick Williams, Chuck Hayes (I guess he might be more of a C, but he is 6'6). Aside from Hayes those are all offensive savants and do not complement one another well at all. They've got the juice to land Asik if they wanted. Seems kind of nuts to move Cousins to PF but I'm sure Mike Malone would prefer a more defensive minded C.

I'm pretty sure (since I was one) that most were saying that if it was Williams + 2 firsts (as was reported multiple places) for Batum, it was worth looking at. If you choose to believe Kahn and his "spin" (look at how he lied to the media, misrepresented his position, lied about Webster's release and forgot about the CBA) more power to you.

Idk what you said, so please don't think I'm trying to pointing fingers. :( It was said in jest. I thought it was a bad deal anyway you cut it, both before and in hind sight. I don't believe anything out of clown Kahns mouth. I just heard after the fact, from both sides that the trade for DWill and 2 1st rounds was never on the table. It's not really a big deal now either way. It worked out for the best... for the Blazers.

I like Mbah Moute a lot, he'll be perfect for that team. As for Williams, the only worse mistake than blowing a high pick is pretending that you didn't and holding on too long. If they pull off this trade then they turned trash into treasure.

Mbah Moute is going to play 20 mpg for the Wolves at this point, and if he plays more, they're even more screwed. He's a PER 11 player, and his perimeter defense doesn't matter on a team like Minnesota that has no interior defense.. I find this a panic move by Minnesota, since they will have to pay Mbah Moute almost $5m next year, yet Kevin Love can start demanding a trade after this season since he has an option in summer 2015.

    Mbah a Moute's forte isn't perimeter defense.

Then he doesn't have a forte. How excited will you be when Love demands a trade to the Lakers this summer?

He's smarter than that. He'll demand a trade to the Heat.

So sad Williams has to go to the trash heap of the NBA. Sacramento.

Does anyone else think it's kind of funny that the Kings gave up on Trob so soon, only to trade for another underwhelming pf to try to turn into something useful?

What position were those 2 #1s? Were the picks later traded? Who got drafted with them?
...just to estimate what we would have gotten.

Bench player for bench player. Neither much of an impact player with Williams being more athletic and MM being more of a defensive stopper at the wing position (with knee issues) Wouldn't want either on the Blazer roster right now.

Don't understand why Minny made the qualifying offer to Williams . ..

RMM might be coming off the bench, but he'll be much more versatile than Williams was/is. This will give Adelman more flexibility with his lineups and overall I expect him to be a better fit for the way they want to play.
