I'm not comparing Miller and Dame. They are only alike in that they want the ball in their hands. I'm comparing the situation. Do you not remember how resistant Roy was to having Miller start with him?

Do LeBron and Wade share a backcourt?

Roy clashing with miller has as much to do with lillard as apples and oranges do to each other

You can't just say that and then offer zero explanation of how it's different.

Oh, Apples and Oranges are both fruit, so maybe you do understand what I'm talking about?

Miller and Dame are ball-dominant guards... Why do you think it would be different?

Miller was a pure pg, not so hot off the ball
Lillard is just fine off the ball

I seriously don't see where you are going with this. You might have a point and it might be valid but miller=dame isn't resonating, sorry

I totally get that they're different in how they handle an offense, but do you not agree that they both play better with the ball in their hands?

Roy wanted a point guard who would play off the ball, like Blake, for most of the game. Roy essentially played the point guard for us for most of the game. Lillard is fine off the ball, but do you think he would want to play off the ball for most of the game? I'm just trying to illustrate how Roy resisted playing with a point guard who wanted the ball. We saw it with Miller and I think he would have resisted it with Dame.

I think he would have seen lillard as a massive talent upgrade and would have been fine. He didn't bring the ball up every posession with Blake on the floor, its just that miller had to initiate the offense, or else he was kinda useless...not a problem dame has whatsoever, in fact you could say he needs work on the things Roy/ miller excelled in (post entry passes, beating pick and roll doubles) and is good at all of the things miller was not

Lillard might not have been ecstatic about Roy isos but he would have reaped the reward of wide open 3 balls, and let's just state the obvious...Roy was better than lillard, so he takes what he gets in that scenario, and aside from lillard throwing a fit, it would have worked fine imo

I just think Roy's ego would have taken over. He flexed his muscles quite a bit over his last year or so on the team and I think eventually he and Dame would have had problems. Just my two cents.

Quite possible, I'm not accounting for personality flaws, I just think on court wise it would have been great

Roy might have been better at his peak, but Lillard had a better rookie season and he's having a better sophomore season so far. I don't think Roy was necessarily better than Dame. Right now Lillard's shooting is off a bit, but I think that will level off before the end of the season.

Remains to be seen if Lillard can get to roys level, here's hoping though!

I don't see any reason why he can't. They're actually very similar players, in terms of numbers.
