Seems that people can't quite believe yet . . . http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10066847/portland-gaudy-win-loss-record-puts-elite-right A win tonight against Indiana would go a long way towards establishing our legitimacy.
I do think the team still has to prove they're a legit team. It's awesome how they're 14-3, but I want to see how they handle the next two games. Get blown out in both, not so good. barely lose both? decent. Go 1-1? great. Go 2-0? Awesome.
I'm feeling a bit hopeful; Indy came off a close game against the Clippers yesterday, and while they have four hours on us getting to Portland, they're still the road team, and the Rmoda Gcenter should be rocking. I'd put our chances at 45/55.
They had a much earlier game in LA, and we had a hard-fought victory, so they're likely much better rested. If we'd been able to coast through the 4th, then if feel more confident. We're good, but Indiana has been scary good so far this year.
Are you sure? Indiana plays in the Eastern Conference, which is much weaker than the West. Their record has been amassed against a lot of so-so teams.
Whats funny is Indiana has played an even softer schedule than Portland has. Not saying they aren't better though, imho, they are.
I think we actually match up pretty well with Indy. It will be a good game, but Indy is one of the two games that I figured we would probably lose out of the "Tough 10."
Agreed http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400278347 Box score of last time Indiana came to PDX/20 Pt win for Blazers. Of the 10 players that started that game, only 1 is different (Lopez instead of Hickson). Both teams have improved. Pacers are 1.5 pt favorites, but Blazers won't be intimidated. Should be a great game.
A partial season doesn't make our team legitimate. We'll see by the end of the season where they end up ranking. With that said, the future looks bright!
He attacks often and more importantly he gets to the line a lot more often. Matthews tries and Mo is a jump shooter at this point of his career. It'd be interesting seeing how McCollum adjusts to NBA competition as he attacks the paint and how that will affect Dame.
