A coworker said his son was at a basketball camp and LeBron bought every kid full gear to ball in, so I guess I take it on word of mouth, I know he does scholarships in clevland too.
Well, to be fair, it is pretty well-publicized that Lebron does give a lot back, especially to the kids.
I'm sure he does.....(On a side note, I asked him to join me on Road Trippin' once and he blew me off big time, understandably)
What you're omitting (that means leaving out, HCP) is the fact you asked him that while you were naked, and with a raging 2 inch boner.
That was cool of him, and now I have a word of mouth of him being cool and being a jerk. Off topic but drew brees is a piece of shit, we did a charity poker event and dealers were told not to talk to him unless spoken to, and he tipped $5 while people that just had money bought dealers drinks, tipped good, and gave them prizes like gas cards and shit
Roy was an amazing player and was better than Drexler at many things. Had he been healthy, he would have surpassed Drexler on the list of best Trailblazers. Yes I said it.
So pray tell what you mean by "do research" if you don't know someone personally than isn't other people's interactions with them about the best research one can do? What are "insider" stories but their opinion of someone, making it word of mouth to us 3rd parties?
It is tough to judge alot of these guys because they get those requests constantly. Some guys who look squeaky clean in the media might be jerks in real life whereas guys who are portrayed as selfish might be quite charitable. If this list is true Carmelo Anthony was the most charitable NBA player last year http://www.forbes.com/sites/andersonantunes/2012/01/11/the-30-most-generous-celebrities/3/
I was battling if Roy is happy for us. I think he is. He loves our fan base and knows how this is good for us fans
Based on what exactly? I'm not saying he's bitter or that it's impossible that he feels like that, but there's scant evidence to suggest he gives his former employer and teammates much thought at all.
It's easy to look back and say, "this guy wasn't what he should have been." I believe what Charles Barkley said athletes as role models. Roy was a great player when the Blazers needed him. That's enough for me.
This whole thread is just a repeat of 10 years ago, finding off-court reasons to hate Blazers. I agree he's been absent, and the corollary question is why. When he seemed to accept amnesty like a good soldier, maybe he was quietly annoyed and wanted to continue on the team. Or maybe he's backing up Pritchard, who got fired for not negotiating hardball with him.
