Quite right. We see what you did there. Notice I said "ObamaCare", as did you originally. Now, you're changing it to simply "Obama". ObamaCare did not come simply with the arrival of Obama. We didn't even have ObamaCare during his first term.
Well, there's a "Lost generation" that refers to the post WW I era. I was looking for references to this specific "lost generation" that's occurring during Obama's presidency. And if it started during the Bush presidency. Here's an example of a link Barfo says is relevant? http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/07/29/364053/-Lost-Generation-no-Presidents-for-you As the years roll by, a U.S. demographic bulge is slipping into oblivion with nary a President to show for it. This generation is sometimes referred to as the Korean War generation, those who were young adults at the time of the Korean War conflict. Those born between 1928 and 1945. The U.S. has had many Presidents from the previous World War II generation (1910 to 1927), including: Reagan, Nixon, Ford, Kennedy, Carter and Bush I. More recently, our last two Presidents, Clinton and Bush II, are both of the Baby Boom generation. Yup, the entire generation (18 years) in between, has lost out on the Presidential sweepstakes. And for better or worse, 2008 might be the Lost Generation's final chance at securing the top spot for one of their own. (like I said, no hits for Bush and the lost generation that's kids graduating college now living in their parents' basements because they can't find a job)
Mark Steyn is a funny guy. Really smart, too. Note the emperor's new clothes reference. http://www.ocregister.com/articles/work-540498-one-health.html One consequence of the botched launch of Obamacare is that it has, judging from his plummeting numbers with “millennials,” diminished Barack Obama’s cool. It’s not merely that the website isn’t state-of-the-art, but that the art it’s flailing to be state of is that of the mid-20th century social program. The emperor has hipster garb, but underneath he’s just another Commissar Squaresville. So, health care being an irredeemable downer for the foreseeable future, this week the president pivoted (as they say) to “economic inequality,” which will be, he assures us, his principal focus for the rest of his term. And what’s his big idea for this new priority? Stand well back: He wants to increase the minimum wage! Meanwhile, Jeff Bezos of Amazon (a nongovernment website) is musing about delivering his products to customers across the country (and the planet) within hours by using drones. Drones! If there’s one thing Obama can do, it’s drones. He’s renowned across Yemen and Waziristan as the Domino’s of drones. If he’d thought to have your health insurance cancellation notices dropped by drone, Obamacare might have been a viable business model. Yet, even in Obama’s sole area of expertise and dominant market share, the private sector is already outpacing him. ... One wouldn’t expect the governing class to be as farsighted as visionaries like Bezos. But it’s hard to be visionary if you’re pointing in the wrong direction. Which is why the signature achievement of Obama’s “hope and change” combines 1940s British public health theories with 1970s Soviet supermarket delivery systems. But don’t worry: Maybe one day soon, your needle-exchange clinic will be able to deliver by drone. Look out below.
This has gone on all my life. Immediately after losing the election, the Republican-owned mass media runs polls disagreeing with the election, and chirps us for 4 years about how everyone's dissatisfied with the guy they just elected overwhelmingly, so the majority will vote Republican next time. Right before the next election, the polls shift from Republicans to Democrats, who win. Then Republicans grumble about how they're really in the majority, so they must have not been conservative enough, that's why they lost. The cycle repeats. They believe their own press clippings.
And you're in denial over that last big conspiracy. You know, the one they call the "2012 Presidential Election." As winners say to whiner losing sports fans...Scoreboard.
Denny won't look at that. It shows how radical his perception of US history is compared to reality. Shows that in my lifetime, at the end of their service, the least popular Presidents were Nixon, Bush Jr., Carter, Johnson, Bush Sr., Ford, Reagan, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Clinton. Clinton was the only one who had MORE approval going out than he did coming in.
Obamacare was first done by Romney in Massachusetts, It was written by the Heritage Foundation (mandate and all) and it was the Bob Dole alternative to HillaryCare. #knowyourhistory http://americablog.com/2013/10/orig...on-created-obamacares-individual-mandate.html
hmm you really wanna talk history... lets look at the economic subset in Mass first compared to the entire fucking US and factor in all the bull shit promises oboma made..speak to me son
WTF does that have to do with the origination of the law? It was a republican proposal through and through. Now that Obama passes it you all are up in arms about your plan.
Do your homework: http://www.forbes.com/sites/theapot...e-think-tank-invented-the-individual-mandate/
before you damn me..read the entire article Taranto points out that the Heritage mandate was less onerous than the Obamacare one, as it focused on coverage for catastrophic illness, rather than the comprehensive health plans that Obamacare requires. “On the other hand, Butler’s vague language—‘it might also include certain very specific services…and other items’—would seem to leave the door wide open for limitless expansion,” he writes. “Whatever the particular differences, the Heritage mandate was indistinguishable in principle from the ObamaCare one. In both cases, the federal government would force individuals to purchase a product from a private company—something that Congress has never done before.”
